Several minutes passed as we went on to discussing other matters that deals with running the kingdom when a guard rushed into the throne hall and went straight to the Cullen and he whispered some words to him.

General Cullen looked up at me. “My Lord.” He bowed slightly.

“What’s going on Cullen?” I demanded with a raised eyebrow.

General Cullen raised his head. “The future Luna just passed out at the city gate.” He answered.

“What?!” Everyone in the throne hall gasped out.

My heart beat accelerated and my wolf began to jump around in worry. Our mate passed out! She just fainted at the city gate! I readjusted my sitting position and leaned forward on the throne seat. I couldn’t help but worry because of my wolf. “Where is she?” I asked.

“They are at the city gate waiting for your orders to take her to the infirmary.” General Cullen explained.

Damn orders! Instruct them to take her to the infirmary and she should be attended to by the best theta! My wolf snarled at me. Somehow I started to feel uneasy at the news of my newly found mate losing consciousness.

I glanced up at the General. “Let her be taken to the infirmary and let the best theta be the one to tend to her.” I instructed Cullen who rushed out with the guard immediately.

Why did she lost consciousness? Is she alright? Will she be okay? My wolf pestered me with questions I couldn’t give answers to. Won’t you go and see our mate? She need us right now! My wolf was extremely worried. Can you just give me some breathing space! I yelled at my wolf internally. Having to banter with my wolf for it to stay calm is becoming so hard since we found our mate.

I gestured to Eunuch Cole to adjourn the meeting till evening. And everyone filed out of the throne hall. After the officials departure, I didn’t leave the throne hall. I paced to and fro not too far from the throne seat with a worried look on my face.

Eunuch Cole cleared his throat. “My Lord, will you stop pacing and tell me what is bothering you.” He said with concern in his tone.

“I am extremely bothered about this mate issue. My wolf is making me go crazy because of her and I don’t like it.” I stopped pacing to look at the eunuch only to see him smiling.

“This is great news, my alpha king. The fact that our luna is a special werewolf.” Eunuch Cole smiled heartily.

I raised my eyebrow a little. “Why are you smiling at the mention of her? This is not even funny.” I fumed.

“Well shouldn’t I be happy my alpha king finally found his mate?” Eunuch Cole shrugged.

“Cole, you shouldn’t be happy because you are very much aware that she is an enemy of this kingdom.” I tried so hard not to raise my voice at the eunuch.

“You see her as an enemy but what if she is not what you are thinking? And-”

I interrupted him with an angry look. “Her father tried to take away my throne.” I reminded him.

“My alpha king, your mate didn’t try to take your throne but her father did.” Eunuch Cole countered.

“Her father murdered my mother in cold blood.” I clenched my fist. “I can’t forgive him!” I spat.

“Her father is guilty. But you have always wanted to meet your destined mate.” The eunuch Cole reminded me.

“Why did the moon goddess pair me up with the enemy of my kingdom?” I whispered in a sad tone.

“My alpha king, I need you to understand that her father is your enemy and not your mate.” Eunuch Cole said with a straight face.

I shook my head in disagreement. “His blood runs through her veins. I can never trust someone like her. Never will I let someone like her be close to me.” I gritted.

“She is still your destined mate.” Eunuch Cole added.

I looked straight in his eyes. “That sly she wolf will only be my mate if I accept her.” I retorted.

Eunuch Cole screwed up his face. “My alpha king, are you planning to reject your mate?” He asked.

I nodded positively. “The enmity between her father and I won’t let me accept her. And who knows what evil plan alpha Zion would come up with if he finds out his daughter is my mate.”

Eunuch Cole bowed his head slightly. “My alpha king, you should consider the fact that the alpha in question is terribly ill and I doubt if he would scale through.”

“I want him dead.” I grimaced in anger.

Eunuch Cole’s head snapped up to look at me with a surprise expression on his face. “My alpha king, it isn’t fair to wish a fellow wolf death.”

I released my clenched fists trying to relax. “You are right. I just don’t want trouble with alpha Zion.” I spoke up after some seconds of silence.

“I don’t think accepting your mate would bring trouble to your kingdom. And I think there must be a good reason why the moon goddess paired you with her.” Eunuch Cole said with a serious face.

I let out a sigh. “Cole, haven’t you had any vision lately?” I asked him and he nodded negatively.

Eunuch Cole is a special werewolf too because the moon goddess has bestowed the power of seeing the future on him. He is like a seer.

“My alpha king, she is not evil.” Eunuch Cole interrupted my train of thought.

“Wait, did you see me meeting my mate today? I mean.. in one of your visions?” I demanded.

Eunuch Cole bowed his head. “No. I didn’t have such a vision.” He answered.

I sighed heavily. “What do I do? I am really finding it hard to accept her.” I resumed pacing.

“She is gorgeous.” Eunuch Cole smiled again.

I frowned. “Don’t you dare admire my mate!” I growled out.

Eunuch Cole jumped in fear at my sudden outburst. I face palmed myself for yelling at Eunuch Cole that way. “I am sorry… that impulse wasn’t from me… but my wolf.” I mumbled.

“I understand. Your wolf is trying to mark its territory.” Eunuch Cole grinned.

“You are right. My mate is beautiful, special and unique. Plus my wolf approves of us mating her.” I admitted.

“My alpha king, it shows that you want your mate but you can’t accept her for enmity reasons.” Eunuch Cole said in a rasp. He must be trying to be careful with his choice of words so I won’t snap at him again.

I shook my head in agreement. “You are right. I want my mate so badly but I can’t accept her and it is really pissing my wolf off.” I stopped pacing again.

“You don’t want to accept her and at the same time you can’t even stand another wolf admiring her.” Eunuch Cole mumbled.

“Did you notice the way my officials eyes kept watching her? They almost stripped her naked with their eyes!” I pointed out with my hands dropping to my waist.

Eunuch Cole laughed. “Don’t laugh!” I cautioned him.

“Forgive me, my alpha king.” He bowed.

“What if she doesn’t want me too?” I asked.

“I don’t know what to say about her. I think she awaits your rejection knowing the hatred that runs deep in your heart towards her father. But what if she turns you into a bird if you reject her?” He pointed out.

My eyes widened when he said that. “You are joking right? Do you… think she will turn me into an ugly animal… If I reject her?!” I stammered.

Eunuch Cole bursted into laughter then I realized he was trying to tease me. “Please forgive me, alpha king.” He bowed again.

I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh of relief. “Stop joking around. This is a serious matter. But do you really think she is capable of hurting me? Wait-what if she truly uses black magic?” I questioned frantically.

“I am very sure that your mate is not evil.” Eunuch Cole answered.

“You can’t be so sure Cole.” I huffed.

“My alpha king, you are only doubting your mate because of her father’s deeds.” I nodded in agreement.

“Let us look at the brighter side from now on and don’t judge a book by its cover. The she wolf might be of more good to this kingdom than judging her by what her father has done to you. My lord, I suggest you should be concerned about finding whoever sent that spy.” Eunuch Cole sounded resigned.

“You also believe that alpha Zion didn’t send the spy?” I asked

“At this point, I am certain alpha Zion doesn’t have a hand in this mission. The faded pack mark on the deceased proves that he isn’t a member of Crescent pack. I don’t think a weak alpha can have the strength to keep sending spies instead he would be more concerned about getting well again. And whoever sent that spy has failed at pinning it on alpha Zion this time.” Eunuch Cole reasoned.

I crashed on the bed after taking a long hot shower which really strengthens me a bit. I lazily dragged the bedsheet over my big frame hoping to have a good night rest.

‘Our mate is in the infirmary and you want to sleep!’ My wolf snapped furiously. I haven’t gone to check up on her and that’s because I don’t want to see my mate who is my enemy.

“Let us not do this tonight. I need to rest to be able to get some paperworks done tomorrow.” I silenced my wolf.

I tossed and turned on my bed for several hours while my wolf fumbled angrily wanting me to just go to our mate. So in the end, I gave up the idea of sleeping at the moment.

I hopped out of bed and wore my sleeping robe before grabbing my cloak then I walked out of the room.
