A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 943: Aggrieved

Dreaming and calling Brendon’s name?

Ranita’s face turned red as she instinctively denied it. “I didn’t!”

“Dad, don’t say such things!”

Benedict laughed even more happily, his mood visibly improving, looking more spirited.

“I’m not making it up! I heard it with my own ears last night!” Benedict’s eyes were full of kindness. “You’ve grown up. It’s normal to have your own love and happiness!”

“Before, I was overthinking, afraid you’d get hurt.”

“But I know you always have your own opinions. If you like him, then just like him.”

“If it doesn’t work out in the end, you still have your parents and Bowman’s Mansion to give you shelter.”

Benedict’s voice wasn’t loud, but every word struck a chord with Ranita. Her eyes felt sore, and her emotions were swelling.

“Dad… thank you.”

“Thank me for what? I’m your father!” After a pause, Benedict sighed. “About Chole, I owe you an apology. I didn’t know she had done those things to you. Once I’m discharged, I’ll have a good talk with her.”

“These years have been hard on you and you’ve been wronged!”

Ranita knew Benedict loved her, but he probably felt more guilty towards Chole.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t brush it off so lightly.

The conflict between her and Chole stemmed from an old incident years ago. If the truth wasn’t made clear to Chole, she would always think she was right.

So, Ranita didn’t believe a conversation could solve the issue.

“Dad, you should rest! Are you hungry? I’ll go get you something to eat.” Ranita changed the subject, not wanting to continue the discussion.

Benedict nodded, following the topic. “Alright! I’m hungry too! By the way, give your mom a call later so she won’t worry about me.”

Alexia rushed over after receiving the call, bringing Chole along. While Alexia talked privately with Benedict in the ward, Ranita and Chole stared at each other outside.

“Ranita, ever since you returned to Bowman’s Mansion, it’s been in chaos! Why don’t you take your son and leave as soon as possible?”

When alone, Chole’s malice towards Ranita was always apparent.

“Chole, we agreed before not to let our parents know about our issues. I don’t want them to be sad because of this.”

“So what?” Chole raised an eyebrow at her, her expression mocking. “You want me to make peace with you?”

“Continue pretending to be good sisters in front of our parents?”

Chole laughed softly, her laughter particularly cold.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

She said, “Ranita, don’t be so naive! Now that things are out in the open, there’s no room for reconciliation! Unless you give me a life in return.”

“Then I’ll forgive you, be good sisters with you, and treat your son well!”

Ranita pressed her lips together and remained silent for a long time.

Chole’s expression grew more triumphant. “What? Can’t bear to lose your life? Do you remember how you treated me back then?”

“Ranita, I’ll never forget.”

“So, I’ll never forgive you in this lifetime or be good sisters with you.”

“Between us, Bowman’s Mansion can only choose one. Who do you think our parents and brother will choose?”

Chole’s expression remained smug. She was confident that because of their guilt over her years of hardship, everyone in Bowman’s Mansion would ultimately side with her.
