The child can’t be Ranita’s!

“Eve… I didn’t hear anything, but I think it’s her boyfriend from outside the circle? I heard he’s very handsome and rich…” The assistant was interrupted by Eve. “You go out and buy me some fruit, I want watermelon! And get a bag of eggs too!”

“What? Forget the watermelon, why do you need eggs? Can you even finish a whole bag of them, Eve?” The assistant spoke casually as she had a good relationship with Eve.

Eve sneered. “I won’t eat them. I plan to use them to hit someone.”

Ranita held onto Eve and smiled at the assistant. “She’s joking with you. Just buy her some watermelon! Don’t get cold ones though, they’re not good for digestion.”

After sending away the assistant, Eve slammed the table. “Tell me what happened!”

“It’s just what it is,” Ranita said while looking down at her eyelashes and nervously started peeling an apple with a fruit knife. She absent-mindedly cut off more than half of it in one stroke.

“Stop peeling it now; we’ll handle it later,” said an angry Eve as she snatched away what Ranita was holding in her hand, which ended up being thrown into the trash bin along with the apple.

“Don’t waste food,” Ranita scolded while looking at Eve angrily. “Don’t throw things away next time.”

“Explain everything to me!” Fuming with anger, Eve urged Ranita on, “Is Shannon really pregnant? Is it Brendon’s?”

Ranita tried to come to terms with everything but still felt heartbroken that she couldn’t breathe properly anymore.

Silence represented acceptance.

“I’m going after him! That bastard Brendon needs to pay for this!” exclaimed an enraged Eve as she put on her shoes ready to charge out of there, “He hasn’t even divorced you yet; how dare he do this?”

“Eve!” Ranita grabbed onto her arm tightly.

“Why are you stopping me?! They’re right next door; I’m going…” paused for a moment before coming back for her phone. “I’m going expose them using hundreds of marketing accounts!”

Ranita held onto her hand and shook her head saying, “Let’s stop here for now. Brendon and I are getting divorced soon anyway so whoever he wants children with or who he wants to be together has nothing to do with me.”

“But…” Seeing tears welling up in Ranita’s eyes made Eve feel sorry for interrupting again, “But…you…”

“Eve,” interrupted Rantia changing topics abruptly. “There’s something else that slipped my mind earlier. My brother is coming over tonight so I’ll have dinner with him.”

“Really? You made up with your brother? Weren’t you guys not talking to each other after the argument?” Eve raised her eyebrows and smiled. “You’ve told me so many times, but I’ve never met him in person! What a shame!”Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

After chatting for a while, Ranita saw that it was almost time for dinner and hurried off.

As soon as Ranita left, Brendon knocked on the door. “Where’s Ranita?”

“Hehe… she went out on a date for dinner! Why aren’t you accompanying Shannon but find Ranita?” Eve couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him.

Luckily, her assistant wasn’t around or she would have been scared to death!

Brendon owned an investment company and often invested in movies and TV shows, making him quite a wealthy sponsor.

Brendon frowned but didn’t argue with her. “Eve, you’re friends with Ranita. Do you know what the name of that guy she used to like is?”

At his words, Eve was stunned.

She sat up straight and looked at Brendon for several seconds before asking with pursed lips, “Why do you want to know this?”

Brendon remained silent for a moment before saying, “Just tell me.”
