A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 145 Date

Like a gust of wind, he suddenly appeared.

Ranita saw Brendon clearly in the backlight. He was wearing casual clothes with shorts that showed off his strong legs. His body was tall and straight like a pine tree, with handsome features but no expression on his face except for sweat beads on his forehead indicating he had just finished running and was feeling hot.

Looking at Brendon made Ranita’s heart sink like a stone thrown into water, causing ripples to form.

“Ranita!” Brendon’s voice was cool like morning dew – damp and chilly. The shadow cast by him blocked out the sunlight as he stared at her with his dark eyes.

Brendon arrived late at night but when he saw Dylan’s car parked outside their villa door, all warmth left him instantly leaving him cold to his core. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

What kind of relaxation trip was this? It was all lies! This bad woman obviously came out secretly to date some man! Brendon sat in the car for over an hour before finally checking into another villa.

He tossed and turned all night long while feeling like his heart was burning up from within; unable to sleep until dawn broke when he went out for a run.

“Good morning…” Ranita pursed her lips tightly not knowing what else to say after disappearing so suddenly yesterday. Brendon must be angry.

“Why did you come here suddenly?” Brendon looked askance at her with cold tone, “Isn’t it better resting at home?”

“Just wanted to take a walk.” Ranita lowered her eyes subconsciously taking two steps back, “Mr Stuart… if there isn’t anything else, I’ll leave now.”

“Ranita!” Suddenly she felt him grab hold of wrist tightly; squeezing hard until it turned red from pain, “You don’t want stay home yet you want go dating Dylan?”

Ranita felt bitter inside.

She struggled free from his grip, calmly saying, “Mr. Stuart, do you have any other questions?”

“Mr. Stuart, we are already divorced – strangers who have gone our separate ways down different roads – who I am seeing shouldn’t matter much.”

“I’m single now,” she continued, “I’m an adult capable of being responsible for my own actions.”

Ranita’s heart ached with every word she spoke.

“Ranita!” Brendon growled lowly, his dark eyes now tinged with red, like an angry lion about to pounce. He took two steps closer and trapped Ranita against the railing, his powerful body pressing down on her and causing her to feel breathless.

Cold sweat dripped down Ranita’s back as she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen.

“Say it again, Ranita,” Brendon demanded angrily. How could this woman leave his bed only to go on vacation with another man?

Brendon was consumed by anger and couldn’t think straight. “Do you really need another man that badly? To degrade yourself like this?” he spat out.

“Brendon!” Ranita couldn’t believe what she was hearing and kicked him in frustration, but it was more of a tickle than anything else.

Brendon’s mind suddenly cleared as he realized what he had said.

“Get out of here!” Ranita bit her lip hard as she pushed him away forcefully before turning around to leave. Tears were threatening to spill over from the corners of her eyes.

She scolded herself for arguing with such a jerk. After all, wasn’t she just as foolish for getting involved with him? She held back the tears that were burning hot behind her eyelids.
