Chapter 16
ACE
“You need a rest Gina, so go to sleep.”
Gina snatched the glass he was holding and threw it on the floor. Fortunately, the floor was carpeted so it didn’t break.
“What’s wrong with you, Gina?” He raised his voice. But the hurt in her eyes sliced him like a dull knife.
“You! You’re my problem. I hate you, Ace. I hate you.”
Gina turned her back on him and ran to the terrace. A few more minutes passed before he thought of following his wife there.
He reached Gina there as if she was looking into the distance. She doesn’t notice him right away because she might be thinking deeply. He cleared his throat, so she turned to him. But silence still prevailed between the two of them.
“It’s all clear to me, Ace.” She finally said. “It’s midnight, and our wedding is officially over. We’re back to normal. In the beginning I knew it was all just pretending, so I’m sorry if I violated our agreement.”
Gina shouldn’t blame herself because it wasn’t her fault, it seemed like she was still very innocent. It was his fault because he had taken advantage of her and he was no different from other men.
“Gina–”
“You’re the one who always gives, Ace. You don’t even let me repay you for what you give me. Do you have any idea how that makes me feel?”
Gina stepped forward towards him. He could see her trying to make a mask on her face, but she was as readable as she’d always been.
“You married me to protect me. You installed a security device in my house for my security. Then you even gave me your grandmother’s ring. You pay for our wedding expenses. You also planned almost every detail at our wedding. Then when I was tired and stressed, you ran my bath for me, set my mood with a candlelight, gave me a back massage, and most of all you always gave me all my requests.”
He didn’t just react to what she was saying to him because maybe their conversation would end somewhere else.
“You did all that to me, and now you don’t want to repay me for everything you did for me, Ace. What am I to you, a dummy? Or a prop?”
“Don’t think like that Gina, you’re not a dummy or a prop,” he approached Gina and touched both of her shoulders. “I cared about you, so I did all that.”
“It’s still not enough, Ace. If you cared enough you would trust me. You’ll tell me why. You’ll answer my questions to you, and let me repay you for what you’ve done for me.” Gina said. “Maybe because I don’t have much experience like you.” She added. “You think that I couldn’t bring you the same level of pleasure. Is that true? But I guarantee you, that I can give everything I can give.”
Gina leaned forward and pressed her lips to the base of his throat. He swallowed and could hardly breathe.
“If I let you, Gina,” he said, struggling to resist her. “The fact that we haven’t consummated our marriage is still part of our agreement.”
She stared at him, while she untied the sash of his robe and slid her arms around him. “We’re legally married, so there’s nothing wrong with doing that. For now, will you give me a favor, Ace? Will you come back to bed and make love to me? Will you let me make you happy?”
This is probably the hardest decision he will make in his whole life. “When we do that Gina, a lot will change.” He said and distanced himself a little from his wife.
“You know I’m really impressed with your integrity, but I’m your wife now Ace, so don’t be stubborn. Me too, I also have something called integrity and pride, but you know Ace, sometimes I thought that maybe you’re a gay so you don’t like me.”
“I don’t care what you think about me, Gina.”
“If I don’t have appeal to you, then let’s sleep next to each other, the bed is big for the two of us.”
He also thinks there’s nothing wrong with sleeping next to her in bed. He is very immature if he does not accept the challenge. He smiled secretly, he looked at the floor for a few moments. When he looked back at Gina, he suddenly remembered the beautiful shape of his wife’s body, as well as her healthy breasts, and how her body also responded to his caresses.
“I’m going to sleep now.” She said arousing his imagination. “If you don’t want to sleep here, I’ll let you go home to your apartment and sleep there.”
“Are you driving me away? And who told you I don’t want to sleep next to you?” He saw that Gina was speechless at his question, and instead she just blinked.
GINA
She blinked away her shock. Couldn’t she just be dreaming? Will they really sleep together in one bed all night?
“Are you going in? Or are you going to sleep on the terrace?” Ace said as he moved to the doorway.
She passed in front of Ace and gave him a seductive stare. You’re so naughty Gina, she said to herself.
ACE
He just smiled at what Gina did, little by little the tension in his body was disappearing.
When they reached the bed, they climbed on both sides at the same time. They were lying side by side on the big bed, but neither of them was speaking. The two of them were just staring at the ceiling.
“What if I get cold tonight?” Gina broke their silence. “What are you going to do?”
He turned his head to Gina. “The fire is blazing, Georgina.”
“Meaning?” She asked.
“Meaning, it’s my responsibility to keep you warm. I believe that’s one of the things I swore today. I mean, yesterday.”
“Which one of those, Ace? Is that love, honor, and provide heat?” She asked teasingly.
“Did I say something like that? I don’t think I remember.” then he rolled into her side. “Are you cold?”
“Meaning?”
“Isn’t that what you call integrity? By tempting me even further?”
“Don’t you want it Ace, to make our first wedding night memorable? Or do you want me to call our night ‘The Night of Passionate Resistance’? What do you think?”
“Maybe you can also call it ‘The Night of…” he sighed. “Come here, Gina.”
“Meaning?”
“Meaning, let’s start warming up.”
GINA
Spooned together, that’s what Ace said – warming up. She squirmed until she found the perfect spot against him, the one that made him groan because he couldn’t hide his body’s response to her nearness.
“Oops, sorry.” She apologized as her back bumped against him. He clamped a hand against her hip, stilling her.
“This is my condition for the past few months, so it’s normal for me.” Ace said, she felt goosebumps rise in her skin as he spoke close to her neck.
“Do you realize how often I amend rules to suit you, Gina?”
“I know you’re flexible, Ace.”
Sometimes she really wondered about Ace, but whatever it is, as long as she cherishes this opportunity for their bodies to come together. She would get him to change his mind about letting her return the pleasure he’d given her. Sooner rather than later, she hoped. Hopefully she will find the right opportunity to tell Ace the content of her feelings. Hopefully, when Ace finds out about her love for him, he won’t be separated from her as they agreed. And she hopes that she gets to know him better.
“Goodnight, Ace.” She said softly. She wanted him to sleep so that she could stay awake all night and savor being in his arms. “Sweet dreams.”
It was early in the morning but she still couldn’t sleep, his arm lay heavily across her waist while he was sleeping soundly. She turned to lie down to face him and also took the opportunity to stare closely at her husband’s handsome face. Why is it that he only smiles at her once, but when he is joking with their female colleagues he always smiles?
Ace Roderick Durant III. The man everything she’d ever wanted in a lifetime partner. Protective, kind, and intelligent, even if sometimes he’s very arrogant. As a lover, he was generous and thoughtful. As a friend, he was loyal and committed, a much better giver than receiver.
She couldn’t help but caress his face, so his eyes suddenly opened wide. She was startled so she turned around quickly. She just felt that Ace embrace with her became tighter.
“You can’t sleep?” he whispered, stroking her back.
“It’s not like that, I just want to change position.” She alibi, but Ace fell asleep again.
She turned to lie down again and faced Ace. She placed one of her thighs on his side and caressed her husband’s smooth face again, loving the scent of him and the heat they shared. Though she was fighting drowsiness just to watch her sleeping husband all night, but the need to sleep overpowered her. Her eyes drifted shut, then she blinked them open, but they closed again. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Sleep now my dear, wife.” Whoa! his voice was husky and mesmerizing. “Sleep tight, sweetie.”
What else should I do? In just the soft voice of Ace, she seems to be swinging.
