Your Love Is My Weapon

Chapter 340

Chapter 340

Outside the hotel door, another black car stopped. The door was opened, and Xavier walked out of the

car. Standing at the door, he could already feel the bustle.

Jacob followed him by his right side and presented the receptionist with the invitation. After the

receptionist looked at it, he said, "Please come inside." Rufus saw it, put down his glass, and walked

over. "Mr. Jones."

Xavier picked up a glass of red wine from the tray held by the waiter passing by, put it to his lips, and

took a sip. He said meaningfully, "Congratulations, Mr. Gates."

Rufus didn't notice anything weird. He smiled happily. Whether he liked Laura or not, he had to look

very satisfied when facing outsiders.

"Well, I'm more popular with women." He punned.

He implied that it was because of him that Arya left the Jones Family, and he divorced Georgina but

now married Laura.

Moreover, even if Mr. Gates was retired, the Gates Family's power remained unchanged.

The Jones Family had a different situation. Mr. Jones retired, and Jasper, his proud student, died as

well. Their power in the officialdom was greatly reduced.

Maybe the richest and the most powerful family in W City in the future would not be the Jones Family.

Xavier shook the glass, and the blood-red liquid swayed in it. He lowered his eyes and stared at the

wine. "Some of it may be bad luck."

Rufus's face darkened slightly. But he remained calm, "Mr. Jones, are you kidding? I'm engaged today.

Why did you curse me?"

Xavier chuckled. "I didn't. I have accepted the gift you gave me. If I give a gift to you, you have to take

it."

"Of course." Rufus sneered in his mind. Xavier's recent actions were being watched by his henchmen.

He was either in the company or in the hospital. What trouble could he make?

What's more, Mr. Gates had officially retired. He had no connections in the officialdom. What could he

do?

At this moment, someone came to remind Rufus to attend the ceremony. NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

"Convey my regards to Arya. When she gives birth, I will definitely go to apologize. If it hadn't been me,

she would still be your wife now." Rufus said sarcastically deliberately to touch a raw nerve before

leaving.

With the status of the Gates Family, the people they invited were naturally dignified. Today, at the home

court of the Gates Family, there were certainly a lot of people who gave flattery, and many people took

the opportunity to get close with the Gates Family.

Seeing that Rufus was called away, some people came up to get close with Xavier. They used to know

each other but were not familiar. They usually had no contact, and now they took this opportunity to get

familiar with him. "Mr. Jones, listen to what he said. It seems that Mrs. Jones is not Mrs. Jones."

Arya and Xavier did sign the divorce agreement, and without Xavier's signature, Mr. Jones found

someone to complete the divorce process.

But it was not made public. The outside world did not know about it. Only a few people who got

involved in the incident knew it.

The smile on Xavier's face changed instantly.

He tidied up his neat suit collar and said unhappily, "His words are not as nice as yours."

When this person heard this, he thought he had said something wrong. Why did he feel unhappy?

He thought about it and felt that he was right, "You are not divorced?"

This man was trying to explain, but Xavier's expression turned even gloomier.

Xavier didn't even want to take another look at such a fool. He turned around and walked to Cullen.

Jacob followed Xavier and looked back at the man, "You flattered him in the wrong place."

Originally, the man wanted to get close to Xavier. However, not only did he fail to get close to him, but

he also made Xavier despise him.

The man came up to him unwittingly, trying to find out the truth, "Is Mr. Jones divorced?"

Jacob wanted badly to crack the man's head open to see what was inside. How dared he to ask about

Xavier's private affairs?

Jacob smiled and felt that the world had changed. How could such a stupid person survive till today?

He even seemed to be doing well.

Jacob did not understand it at all.

"How's Arya?" Xavier came over. Cullen's first words were to ask about Arya's health condition.

"Very well. She's fine."

Cullen relaxed a little and it was enough for him to know that she was fine.

At this moment, the host's voice sounded on the stage, high and enthusiastic, which immediately

brought the atmosphere up. "Thank you for taking your precious time out of your busy schedule to

attend Mr. Gates and Miss Woody's engagement ceremony. On such an auspicious day, a marriage is

made, and joy warms the heart. On this day of hope, Mr. Rufus and Miss Laura hold an engagement

banquet here. Now let's invite the bride-to-be and groom-to-be in..."

With the voice of the host, there was warm applause. Some were sincere and some fake, but of

course, there were all blessings on the surface.

Rufus wore a white suit and walked slowly into the scene with Laura.

Rufus was not very satisfied with the engagement and even with the marriage with Laura, but he did a

good job on the surface.

But Laura couldn't pretend on the surface.

It seemed that this engagement was not what she wanted. She looked unhappy and did not smile at all.

Rufus couldn't bear to see it and said, "Today is our engagement. Even if we're unhappy, we can't put it

on our faces. People with ulterior motives will look at us and gossip."

"I don't wanna disguise myself." Laura retorted unhappily. It was nice enough that she didn't run away

and humiliate the Gates Family.

She couldn't figure out why her father insisted on her marrying Rufus. What was so good about Rufus?

He had a second marriage, and although he was not ugly, he was not her type as well. She was a girl.

She had never been in love before and had only met a few times.

Xavier was one of them whom she dated, but Xavier didn't like her.

Her eyes inadvertently glanced at Xavier, who was standing in the corner. He was wearing a black

tailored suit with a cold expression on his handsome face. Even standing in the corner, he was hard to

be ignored. Laura was slightly stunned, but she quickly withdrew her gaze.

Xavier was married, and she was getting engaged today. She liked him a little but had to let it go.

"Bride-to-be and groom-to-be, please come on stage and deliver a speech."

Laura held Rufus's hand and walked up the stage, whispering, "Why did you divorce Georgina?"

Rufus's eyes twitched, "Can you stop asking that question now?"

"When should I ask then?" Laura deliberately didn't want to listen to Rufus. She would rather say to him

whatever he didn't want to hear.

She couldn't disobey her father. Couldn't she find something unpleasant for Rufus?

Rufus glanced at her and wanted to tell her that I was cheating and flirting, but he couldn't.

"She likes another man, so we get divorced."

Laura burst into laughter. Could it be that Rufus was cuckolded?

So they divorced?

Thinking of this, Laura still had some sympathy for Rufus.

"Who is that person?" Laura was very curious.
