Chapter 547 Revenge
Chapter 547 Revenge
Ashley screamed and rolled around in agony as she was beaten up.
Worried that she would end up dead, Davis went over to stop Sophie when he thought she had beaten Ashley up enough. "Please, Miss Sophie. If you kill her, you will have to pay for her life. It's not worth it."
He pulled Sophie away from Ashley.
Sophie kept glaring at Ashley. The hatred and anger in her eyes seemed to be able to cut through the latter's skin.
Ashley had a swollen nose and a bruised face from being beaten up, and blood was dripping from the corners of her mouth. She was in pain all over as she cried. She was at a loss. She didn't know what to do next.
What should she do to make Sophie believe that everything she said last night was a lie?
What should she do to help her family escape from this disaster?
She didn't know.
She covered her face and cried at Sophie, "Sophie, please believe me. I was lying last night. I was angry because that escort belittled me. I deliberately exaggerated my words and made up lies. None of the things I said were true!"
Sophie couldn't help but kick her a few more times. "Do I look like an idiot to you? Your father always
pretended to be a good uncle in front of me, so I trusted him and treated him as a caring elder. I never doubted him. But you made it clear last night. What else is there for me to not understand?"
She was trembling with anger as she continued, "He actually thinks that the inheritance of the Foreman Family should belong to your older brother. How dare he? He is just a distant cousin of my father, and he was taken in by my grandparents out of pity when he was orphaned at a young age. They raised him, but they didn't expect him to have such ambitious desires. He actually treats our family's belongings as his own!"
"No! No!" Ashley desperately shook her head. "I made all that up. My father never thought that way! Sophie, please believe me. I really made it all up!"
If her father found out that she said these things, he would definitely be furious.
He, her mother, and her brother would abandon her if her family fell bankrupt because of Sophie. How was she supposed to live when that happened?
Without a word, Sophie pulled Ashley by the hair and dragged her toward the car.
Sometimes, there was only a thin paper between hypocrisy and truth.
In the past, she had never doubted Elijah because of how much the man loved and spoiled her. He would always fulfill her every request.
If it weren't for Ashley sleeping with Edmund, her hatred for Ashley and her anger toward the Ashley's family wouldn't have led her to expel the entire family from Foreman Group.
Elijah had created a perfect image in front of her.
Sophie had never thought that he was involved in this matter.
But Ashley's words were like breaking through that thin layer of paper, and when she thought back to what Elijah had done before, she understood everything.
Elijah did love her, but his love was more like suffocating her.
He wanted to pamper her into an ignorant young lady who knew nothing about the world.
He always smiled and said to her father, "Sophie is blessed. She can do whatever she wants and let others do the hard work."
In the past, she thought her uncle loved her very much.
But now, she understood everything.
Elijah wanted her to be an ignorant fool so that her father would hand over the company to Elijah's son, letting him inherit Foreman Group.
However, her parents treated Edmund as their own son and decided to marry Sophie to him.
Since Edmund was both an adopted son and a son-in-law, her parents would naturally not hand over the inheritance of Foreman Group to a distant nephew. They wanted to give it to Edmund.
Elijah had ambitious desires and treated the inheritance of the company as their own.
Her parents decided to hand over the inheritance of Foreman Group to Edmund, blocking the path for Elijah's son. As a result, Elijah sacrificed one daughter to get rid of Edmund.
Her whole family trusted Edmund too much and never doubted him, so Elijah's scheme eventually succeeded.
If it weren't for Ashley getting drunk and blurting out the truth, Sophie might never have believed Edmund's words, considering her paranoia and trust in Elijah.
When Sophie thought about how she had imprisoned Edmund in the basement and tortured him to the brink of death, her heart ached like it was being torn apart.
Will Edmund forgive me?
He will, right?
Her parents had saved Edmund's life and raised him as their own. They treated him better than her.
No matter what she had done to Edmund, Edmund would forgive her for the sake of her parents! Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
She would apologize to Edmund and promise him that no matter what happened in the future, she would trust him and treat him well.
As long as he was willing to come back to her, she would listen to him in everything.
While she was lost in her thoughts, she dragged Ashley by the hair and rushed into the car, instructing the driver, "Go to Elijah Foreman's house."
The car sped away and arrived at its destination when it was already bright outside.
The bodyguards smashed the door, and the servant who came out to open the door started to panic when they saw Ashley with a bruised face and blood all over her face. "Miss Ashley! What happened? Mr. and Mrs. Foreman!"
She turned around and shouted loudly toward the small building behind her.
Elijah and his wife, Silvia Hump, hadn't gotten up yet. When they heard her shout, Elijah got up from the bed, put on his pajamas, walked to the window, and opened it to look outside. "What's all the noise so early in the morning?"
Panicking, the servant informed, "Mr. Foreman, Miss Ashley is injured!"
When Elijah saw Sophie with a fierce expression on her face while pulling Ashley's hair with a group of bodyguards behind them, his scalp tingled, and he turned around to run downstairs.
"What's going on?" Silvia asked drowsily. "What happened?"
Reluctantly getting out of bed, she lazily walked to the window and looked down.
When she saw Ashley with a bruised face and blood all over her face, she screamed and shouted, "Sophie, have you gone mad?"
She turned her head and ran downstairs.
The couple ran downstairs and rushed to Sophie and Ashley. Elijah soon put on an elder's demeanor and scolded Sophie with a stern face, "Sophie, what are you doing? Even if Ashley is ignorant and made a mistake, she is still your cousin. How can you treat her like this?"
Sophie didn't say a word. With one hand pulling Ashley's hair, her other hand clicked on her phone and played a video for Elijah to watch.
Elijah's face turned pale as he watched.
He was already anxiously defending himself before he finished watching. "Sophie, don't listen to that nonsense from Ashley. You know her temper well. She is never serious, and she spouts whatever comes to her mind. Whether it's true or false, she'll say whatever she wants to. Don't believe a single word she says!"
"No, I believe what she said is true." Sophie coldly looked at Elijah. "My grandparents took pity on you when they saw your parents die early and raised you. You didn't repay their kindness, but instead, you have ambitions and want to take over our family's inheritance! You actually said that your son is the only male descendant of the Foreman Family, and the inheritance of the Foreman Family should belong to your son! How dare you say such things? Are you not afraid that you will have your tongue cut off?"
