Chapter 234

Patricia rested her hands on her knees like a good little girl.

No one would be able to tell that she was drunk if they didn't check her face and eyes.

Zachary heard her voice and rapped on the car window again.

"Open up, President Arnold. I'm here to take Tricia home."

Isaac was irked. He locked the door to prevent Zachary from opening it himself.

Patricia turned her head to the side. "Zachary? I'm here, Zachary. Why aren't you coming over to help me up?"

There was a hint of exasperation in her voice. In the past, whenever she got drunk, it was always Zachary who would help her up and take her home.

It was the reason why his voice evoked a deep sense of security in her.

"Start driving," Isaac commanded icily.

Tom wanted to get out of the car and resolve the issue, but after seeing what was going on, he stayed in the car.

Now that his boss was ordering him to drive off, he didn't have the courage to do anything else. He

turned the car around and drove off.

Once the car had left, Patricia's phone started ringing.

She overturned her bag to get everything out before picking up her phone.

"Hello?"

"Tricia, ask Isaac to stop the car."

Zachary's deep voice was a little icy as he reiterated, "Scott and Stellan asked me to pick you up. They're waiting for you at home."

Patricia grew frantic when she heard that her sons were waiting for her.

"Stop the car…"

Tom stomped on the brake and the car came to an abrupt halt. Patricia flung the car door open, and Zachary came over to help her get out of the car.

"Did he hurt you, Tricia?"

Patricia shook her head before waving to the man inside the car.

"See you, President Arnold!"

Isaac's brows were deeply furrowed as he watched Patricia walk away from him. He was fuming.

If she knows it's me, why did she still leave with another man?

His face remained as dark as night. Tom wanted to ask if he should drive off, but he didn't dare to, so they remained in the same spot for some time.

"Start driving," Isaac barked.

Tom jumped and floored the accelerator.

"You're going in the wrong direction. Follow Zachary Selwyn's car."

Tom had been completely overwhelmed by everything. He had assumed that Isaac was mad and wanted to go home.

It didn't occur to him that Isaac wanted him to follow Zachary's car, so he quickly made a U-turn and trailed after Zachary.

Meanwhile, Patricia was a little drowsy as she sat in Zachary's car, but she couldn't allow herself to fall asleep.

"How much longer till we reach my house, Zachary?"

Zachary turned to look at her. His eyes were still a little dark. Any later and Isaac would've taken her away.

He was too afraid to allow his thoughts to linger on what might've happened tonight.

"Tricia, Isaac isn't a good guy. You need to keep your distance from him. Why don't you come and work at Selwyn Inc. instead? I'll pay you more than what he pays."

If Patricia wanted to rely on Zachary, she would've taken up a job at Selwyn Inc. a long time ago.

That being said, she never even thought about taking a job there. She was already incredibly grateful to him for saving her and her children's lives back then. Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Thus, she wasn't going to cause any strife between him and his mother, Courtney. She was determined to stay away from Zachary and Selwyn Inc., even if it meant that she had to suffer a little more than necessary.

The car came to a stop, and Patricia felt like her stomach was churning. Zachary reached out and pulled her into his arms. He wanted to carry her down, but she couldn't hold it in any longer.

She made a retching sound as everything came tumbling out right onto his chest.

She kept vomiting, and a lot came out, which made her feel a lot better after.

Zachary's expression was the darkest it could possibly get.

Even his driver was thunderstruck. "Mr. Selwyn."

Zachary raised his hand and signaled for the driver to stay quiet.

He passed a few tissues to Patricia, who wiped her mouth and said, "I'm so sorry, Zachary! I couldn't keep it in. You should remember to stay further away from me the next time you see that I've had too much to drink."

Patricia had drunk far too much alcohol tonight. She had been trying her best to keep a clear mind, so she ended up puking.

Her entire body felt relieved now that she had vomited.

Her vision was no longer blurry, and her eyes fell on his expensive shirt.

It wasn't an easy sight to stomach. In fact, she felt like puking again.
