Freya bent down to pick up Kai.

He seemed to be doing well lately, gaining some weight.

She pinched Kai’s little nose. “Did you miss me?”

“Alright, let’s go see your brother.”

She carried Kai into the house.

She took out her phone from her pocket and dialed Elijah’s number again.
