You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 752 Knowing Too Much Isn’t Beneficial

Elijah, however, did not show any signs of urgency.

He remained calm on the surface.

But inside, he was eager.

“You can make requests to me,” Elijah said.

He knew the man still had doubts about him.

The man looked into his eyes, a glint of light flashing in the depths.

Still, he didn’t say anything, hesitant to ask Elijah to rescue his son.

The matter was too significant.

He feared that not only would Elijah fail to rescue his son, but that the whole thing would be exposed, causing harm to his family.

So he didn’t dare to take the risk.

Releasing Elijah, he indeed felt that Elijah was not a bad person.

“I don’t want you to remember everything here,” the man said.

For both of them, it would be best if Elijah forgot everything here.

Elijah remained silent.

The road here was rough, and it would take at least a day or two to walk out. Of course, those who drove in would be much quicker.

He had his wife prepare some food and water.

After getting everything ready, his wife handed him a backpack. “Be careful on your way.”

The man kissed his wife’s forehead. “I’ll be back soon.”Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

He was worried that his wife would be afraid alone here.

The man was tall, with deep blue eyes and a stubbled face, his hair streaked with gray.

The woman was chubby and very fair.

It could be seen that when the man was young, he should have been good-looking.

The woman might not be as high in appearance, but she was kind.

Her face gave off a sense of peace.

The man prepared a stick for Elijah to walk with to feel the road underfoot.

He put on a backpack.

He also prepared a short stick, holding one end while Elijah held the other.

“Change your shoes!” the woman gave Elijah a pair of clean cloth shoes that had belonged to her husband.

His current shoes were not suitable for mountain trails.

Elijah didn’t move.

Because he couldn’t see.

The woman suddenly realized this. “Look at me, I’ll help you.”

She placed the shoes in front of him. “You can be in front.”

Elijah bent down and quickly found them.

He didn’t show any disdain. Instead, he was very grateful for the woman’s kindness.

After putting them on, he said, “Thank you.”

The woman waved her hand. “No need, no need, hurry up and go, or it will be difficult to walk once it gets dark.”

Elijah furrowed his brows slightly.

Because it wasn’t dark, and he couldn’t see either.

Everything before him was dark.

For him, there was no difference between night and day.

The woman might have also realized that her words were inappropriate.

She looked embarrassed.

The husband said to his wife, “I’m leaving.”

The wife advised, “Be careful on the road.”

The husband nodded in response. “Okay.”

The woman watched her husband leave.

This path was all narrow.

As they walked, there were grass tangles, branches, tall and short ones, scraping against their ankles, calves, and thighs!

The pants could cover most scratches.

Only the thorny or sticky ones would cause skin to break.

On the road, the man was very quiet, not saying a word, just walking ahead.

Elijah focused, listening to everything around him.

Because he couldn’t see, he could only rely on his hearing to sense his surroundings.

He seemed to hear an engine.

Very far away.

Separated by a gentle breeze and birdcalls.

“Is it possible to drive here?” Elijah asked.

The man replied, “Yes.”

When those people came, they’d take a hidden road.

Usually hidden by weeds.

Almost invisible.

The road was not clear, just flattened by the car, so it looked like a path.

Elijah asked again, “They haven’t been gone for long, have they?”

The man turned to look at Elijah, paused for a moment, and said, “Don’t ask too much. Knowing too much isn’t good for you.”

“I just want to let you know that they might be nearby,” Elijah said.
