You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 728: Half Alive

Throughout this journey, Freya’s spirits remained high.

She was excited, and full of anticipation.

Despite days of back and forth, without eating or drinking, her energy was multiplied.

Orion handed her a piece of bread, “Take a bite, don’t show up to Elijah looking half dead.”

Freya took it, retorting, “You’re the one who looks half dead.”

Knowing Elijah was likely okay, Orion’s spirits eased a bit, “I see, you’re purposely making yourself look pitiful, so Elijah will feel sorry for you, right?”

Freya wanted to roll her eyes at him.

“You’re overthinking it,” she said.

Orion chuckled.

After finishing the bread and taking a few sips of water, Freya already felt revived.

Orion considered suggesting she rest for a bit.

But seeing her excitement, he knew she wouldn’t be able to sleep.

So, he kept quiet, hoping the plane would hasten its journey.

They needed to get back quickly.

The wait was agonizing.

Freya would occasionally check the time.

Upon landing, Evan immediately contacted Xander.

Xander informed them he was already at the estate.

They drove straight back.

Finally, seeing Xander at the estate, they found him unharmed.

Not a scratch on him.

Freya asked, “Where’s Elijah?”

Xander replied, “I don’t know.”

Freya, Orion, and Evan were all at a loss.

“What do you mean? Weren’t you with him? How could you not know where he is?” Freya pressed, staring at him anxiously. “Explain yourself.”

Xander glanced at Evan and Orion, feeling torn.

But they offered no assistance.

“We’re also curious,” they chimed in.

Xander wasn’t trying to hide anything. The trouble stemmed from matters within the company.

“Just tell us!” Evan sensed Xander’s hesitation.

Realizing what Xander was hesitant about, Evan added, “There’s nothing to hide at this point.”

Encouraged by Evan’s words, Xander opened up.

“Three months ago, the company acquired Timway Intel at a low price. The recent events were instigated by the former CEO of Timway Intel, Aldrich Marsh, who bribed two pilots.”

The plane took off from Country Z.

Instead of following the planned route, the pilots changed direction over Country D.

While fetching water, Xander overheard the pilots mentioning they’d soon reach Country M.

That’s when Xander became suspicious.

He immediately contacted the control tower, asking them to monitor if the plane deviated from its course.

Universal Aviation operated under Skyline Co.

Hence, Xander could easily reach out to the control tower staff.

Confirmed that the plane indeed veered off course, Xander promptly informed Elijah.

Unable to establish ground contact, they questioned the pilots onboard.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

With irrefutable evidence, the pilots confessed.

Fearing a confrontation with Xander onboard might endanger the flight, the co-pilot knocked him out.

The main pilot, fearing for his life and the safety of the flight, admitted to accepting the bribe.

The man who facilitated the bribe was Aldrich Marsh.

Clearly, it was a deliberate act of retaliation.

Whether the pilots intentionally caused the mishap or were in a panic leading to error, causing the plane malfunction, remains uncertain.

In the urgency of the moment, they parachuted.

Unlike commercial planes, their aircraft was equipped with parachutes in the cabin.

Military-grade, high-altitude parachutes.

Ensuring a higher level of safety.

Thus, Xander landed safely.

However, due to the high-altitude jump, their landing points varied.

Xander touched down near the border between Countries D and F, locating people to contact Evan immediately.

During this time, he tried calling Elijah but couldn’t get through.

Though Freya didn’t fully grasp the intricacies of their work, she understood this incident stemmed from a conflict of interests, a deliberate act rather than an accident.

Seeing Xander unharmed gave her hope that Elijah would be safe as well.

“Let’s go find him immediately. He should be near where you landed,” Freya said to Xander.

Xander’s expression faltered for a moment, on the verge of saying something but hesitated.
