You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 709: Poignant

“We will go talk to Mr. Pierce.”

Freya set down what she was holding.

“It’s no use for you to go. Mr. Pierce definitely won’t agree. The surgery wasn’t done by him. If we ask him some detailed questions later, how will he respond?” Neo advised.

“I can write down the process for him,” Freya replied firmly.

“It’s not that I don’t trust you, Neo. But at the time of my resignation, I shouldn’t be getting involved in this. After all, I’m about to leave, and this opportunity to be in the spotlight should be left to the people in the hospital. Moreover, I don’t like the sensation of being exposed in front of the cameras,” she thought.

Freya found Mr. Pierce.

Upon seeing her, he preemptively stated, “I can’t go. No need to persuade me.”NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.

“I haven’t even said anything, and you’re already rejecting me?” Freya responded.

“The surgery wasn’t mine. If you ask me to go, wouldn’t that be cheating?” Mr. Pierce questioned her.

Freya remained silent.

“You’re about to take over as the director, so it’s not cheating,” Mr. Pierce added.

Earlier, Freya had privately discussed this matter with Mr. Pierce. He was willing to take on the responsibility of the hospital and was preparing for new research. “You can say whatever you want, but I won’t go,” he declared.

“You should go precisely because you’re leaving. You shouldn’t leave without making a contribution,” Mr. Pierce suggested.

“How can I not leave anything behind? I’ll always be in your memories, and besides, I can come back to visit when I have time,” Freya smiled.

“Find someone else,” Mr. Pierce insisted.

However, no one else was willing to take on the task. Everyone was afraid of the potential repercussions. With the widespread use of the internet, any mishap could lead to severe consequences.

Seeing no other way out, Freya decided to do it herself. “What do I need to prepare?” she asked Neo.

Neo handed her a schedule.

“When will the recording be?” she inquired.

“Tonight,” Neo replied.

“So soon?” Freya exclaimed.

She hadn’t prepared anything, but she realized it didn’t require much preparation. She just needed to answer whatever was asked. Glancing at the time, she saw that she had around forty minutes to prepare, so she quickly got ready. She also glanced through the schedule. The patient who had undergone the surgery arrived with his parents pushing him in a wheelchair. They met at the hospital, exchanged pleasantries, and then went to Dragon Entertainment Media, which was hosting the news segment. They were there to meet the host, discuss the process, as it would be broadcast live, and review the script. Freya was okay with most of the questions outlined in the schedule, except for the overly emotional parts between the doctors and the patients. She felt it was unnecessary and wanted to remove it.

The media team was hesitant. “This kind of emotional content is what attracts viewers. If you don’t include it, who will watch?” they argued.

Freya firmly stated, “If that’s the case, then I won’t participate.”

The media team tried to persuade her, “Emotional content can benefit you. Think about it. If you move people, you gain fame, we get more viewership. It’s a win-win situation.”

Freya looked at the patient and his parents. “We will do it my way.”
