Chapter 861
Chapter 861 Angel, One Last Time
For a moment, William wondered if he was dreaming.
But the body in his arms was real, with the fragrance of alcohol and the coolness of the late night.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Emelie's eyes, slightly unfocused from the alcohol, no longer carried the usual coldness that kept people at a distance.
Her long hair was casually tied into a low ponytail, with a few strands falling loose and sticking to her cheeks, giving her an unexpectedly alluring look
William's Adam's apple bobbed twice. He had always desired her, and that night was no exception.
However, her behavior was too unusual that night. It wasn't like her to come to him for such a thing, let alone drink this much, which was rare.
William could only guess that she was acting impulsively due to some emotional turmoil.
He knew well that Emelie could handle her liquor.
Even when she drank heavily, she wouldn't forget what she had done by the time she woke up, so he wasn't afraid of her accusing him of taking advantage of her the next day.
But right now, he was concerned about her well-being more than feeling desire.
After taking a deep breath, William ran his fingers through her hair, holding her head gently. "Did something happen?"
His voice was surprisingly soft.
But Emelie wasn't in the mood to talk. "Are you going to do it or not?"
William restrained himself and said, "You seemed fine during the day at the office. I even saw you go to the market after work. Did something happen later at night?"
Emelie asked again, "Are you going to do it or not? William, your illness is in your lungs, not anywhere else, right? Don't tell me that you're incapable."
William closed his eyes briefly before replying, "Did you find something out? Lyle should have returned to Capebatt City today. Did he discover whatever you asked him to look into?"
How did he know everything?
But right now, none of this mattered to Emelie. "If you're incapable, I'll just find someone else."
She shoved him and started to leave.
William's patience reached its limit.
He grabbed her arm and pulled her back, closing the door as he did. Turning the tables, he pressed her against the wall and bent down to kiss her.
It was like throwing a lit match into a pile of gasoline-soaked wood, and the flames were uncontrollable.
They moved from the first floor to the second, from the living room to the master bedroom.
Clothes were scattered across the floor. Jackets, gloves, undergarments, and pajamas, skirts, and pants alike.
By the time they fell onto the bed, both of them were stripped bare.
But just as things were about to reach their peak, William suddenly regained his clarity, and he froze.
Caught in between, Emelie was irritated and uncomfortable. "Are you really incapable?"
William, who had developed considerable patience, wasn't angered by her words. He leaned over her, bracing his arms on either side of her head, and softly said, "I don't have any protection."
Even in her intoxicated state, Emelie immediately understood what he meant.
"After all these years, you've never been with a single woman?"
"Of course. Not a single one," William replied earnestly.
Emelie, however, didn't care. "If there's no one else, then we don't need it." "But..."
"You're overthinking it. After my miscarriage, the doctor said it would be very difficult for me to have children again. And given how frail you are, Mr. Middleton, I doubt your little swimmers have the strength to get me pregnant on the first try."
The atmosphere grew silent.
William thought it would be better if she stopped talking.
He covered her eyes with his hand and once again captured her lips and kissed her deeply.
In the quiet bedroom, a long-awaited moan came from both of them.
The bed, a masterpiece crafted by renowned artisans from Glastony, remained sturdy and didn't make a sound.
However, the curtains hadn't been fully drawn. Moonlight streamed in and cast their entwined shadows on the wall swaying throughout the night.
Despite his restraint, William was cautious. Every time, he made sure to finish outside.
At dawn, Emelie finally fell into a deep sleep after their final round.
Her sweat-drenched hair clung to her face. William brushed it back behind her ears, then carried her to the bathroom to wash up.
Even now, he found the situation somewhat surreal.
Last time, when they were both under the influence of drugs, they didn't go through with it. But now, at this sudden and unexpected moment, they had...
He could clearly feel the blood that had been dormant in his veins for years surging back to life.
Unable to resist, he reached into the bathtub and lifted Emelie's leg.
Emelie groaned. She wasn't in the mood for more.
William coaxed her softly, "Angel, one last time."
Emelie slapped him across the face.
Of course, she was too exhausted, so it didn't hurt at all.
By the time they left the bathroom, it was nearly 7:00 am.
William hadn't slept for the second half of the night. Normally, that would leave him feeling unwell, but he was in an exceptionally good mood that day.
He called for breakfast to be delivered and then returned to bed while holding Emelie in his arms.
He wasn't sleepy. He just wanted to stay like that, holding her and watching her.
Emelie still hadn't woken up in the afternoon. Thus, William gently tried to wake her.
"Angel, why don't you get up and eat something before going back to sleep? Skipping two meals will upset your stomach."
Emelie groggily opened her eyes. She blinked at the unfamiliar bedroom and was momentarily dazed.
It took a while for her to recall the events of the previous night. Slowly, she turned her head and saw William lying beside her.
