Chapter 42: Sabotage

"Ma'am Jaz, I don't know what happened that day, I just found out that our designs were gone," Rhian said. I called her here to discuss the designs that we are going to present to our investor.

Aside from being wedding planners, we still have other business to do, especially now that the company is becoming more popular.

"What do you mean t was gone?" My forehead knotted when I heard her say that. We just finished that yesterday evening here in our office and now it is gone?

I couldn't think of any reason that someone in here would steal it or else she would forget where she put it.

"Ma'am, I'm really sorry. It's my fault. But the last time I remember, when you left the office, I placed it in your drawer," she said, and I knew that she was getting nervous. That was a big deal, and it would be the next day.

We couldn't finish that in just four days. We did that for almost a week.

"Did someone come here without my permission?" I asked her and she thought of it for a second.

No one else was here last night. If someone came, I would be notified. I also checked the CCTV installed in my office, but everything was normal.

"Actually, I already left that night, ma'am, and as I remember, no one came here because I locked your office just like you said," she said, playing with her finger.

She's afraid that's her mannerisms. I know she thinks I would blame her because the proposal was missing.

But honestly, this is the first time that this has happened to me. I've been working for many years, and I know that proposals or presentations are very important. That's why we don't waste our time and really focus on them. However, what just happened now really caught my attention.

How could someone in this office take that proposal away? I didn't see unusual things in my CCTV.

I just couldn't think of anything that would literally steal that. I know my employees well and even In the first place everything was cleared to them that i do not tolerate stealing or even a spy in our company.

"Let's just find it. Maybe you forgot where you placed it," I said, and she nodded. I could see from her eyes that she was really determined to find that file in my cabinet.

"Yes, ma'am. "We started to search for the designs. Actually, we shouldn't be looking for this design if it has a copy on her laptop.

I was angry when I asked her if she shouldn't forget to save it or make another file for it. But then she said that she really made a copy, but when she checked it. Those designs were gone.

Is someone sabotaging us? But I know I have competitors in business but this is different.

"Ma'am, I already checked everything here, but all these files were all the agreements we had for our client." Rhian said while checking each of the papers. I took a deep breath. I had no choice but to call them all in the meeting room.

"Call them all and let's go to the meeting room" I told Rhian and she nervously said yes. I grabbed my purse and walked out of my office. As I entered the meeting room, I found something unusual: the painting. It wasn't in its normal place. "What just happened here?" I held the painting and fixed it. After that, everyone entered the room, and they had no idea what was happening.

"Good morning, ma'am Jaz," Erica greeted me and sat on the chair. Erica is one of my employees. She's beautiful yet still has no plan to get in a relationship.

"Good morning, ma'am. " Ryan is gay but a hardworking man. He's been here with me for three years.

"Good morning, ma'am Jaz." Jacob had a muscular body, and when he had free time, he always went to the gym.

Rhian told them to sit, and they asked each other what this meeting was all about.

"Quite everyone," I said and massaged my forehead. This was the first time this had happened to us.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but what is this meeting all about?" Ryan asked, and everyone nodded as they agreed with his questions.

"The designs that we made were missing" I told them and they were shocked by the reaction I expected them to make.

"But how is that possible?" Jacob asked Rhian because she was the one who got those copies.

"Have you checked your files? What about the hard copies that we made?" Erica asked her again. I sighed and leaned back on my chair. I looked at them one by one. I couldn't suspect any of them. At least, for now. "Someone deleted those files on his laptop. And the hard copies for the designs were missing. We already checked everything in here, "I told them, and they shut their mouths.

'We just finished that last night,

ma'am; how could that be possible that someone will steal it or even delete the copies on her laptop?" Kurt said. I don't want to blame Rhian here. Aside from that, we are the ones who last left in this office.

"I was tired last night, and I thought

I had placed my laptop in my bag, but when I arrived home, I forgot it. do not want to come back here late at night, though, though I know that our things are safe here." Rhian placed her laptop on the table while trying to look again for the files.

When I arrived in the morning, the first thing I did was to check the files that we made last night. I was surprised when I couldn't find them on my laptop. I tried many times, but it seemed like they had been

deteted," she added in a nervous Voice.

"While I was checking the hard copies, I couldn't find it. I was the one who left last night here and the first who came in the morning," she said, like she was blaming herself. I think someone is trying to sabotage us. If not, the employee may be outside of this company.
