Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change?

Chapter 501

Chapter 501

"Sherilyn!"

Gilbert's attempt to hold her back failed, and he immediately got out of the car to chase after her.

What was going on with Sherilyn? Where was she trying to go?

It didn't take him long to figure it out.

Across the street, Edgar swung open his car door, a smile playing on his lips as he leaned against the roof, waiting for the girl by his side to get in.

The girl, with her head bowed shyly, bent down to get into the car.

Then, Edgar closed the door behind her and took his place behind the wheel. The car pulled away...

"Edgar!"

Seeing this, Sherilyn quickened her pace, shouting his name in hopes he would hear her.

But with the distance between them, Edgar couldn't hear her at all. The car drove off, crossing the intersection.

"Edgar!" Sherilyn stepped forward and shouted.

Beep beep!

A harsh honking sound pierced her ears, Sherilyn flinched, too slow to react, when suddenly she was swept off her feet and pushed towards the sidewalk.

It all happened so fast, and with the force of inertia and gravity, Sherilyn lost her balance and fell to the ground.

"Are you out of your mind? If you want to die, don't drag others down with you!"

"In the middle of the road, get a room if you want to be lovey-dovey!"

"Are you crazy? Fuck!" The cursing voices of the drivers filled her ears.

In front of her was Gilbert, his handsome face flushed with anger.

Sherilyn had fallen, but she felt no pain because Gilbert had cushioned her fall, protecting her completely.

"Have you lost your mind?"

Gilbert started off with a scolding, his emotions a tangled mess of anger, jealousy, and fear.

"All this excitement just because you saw Edgar?"

Sherilyn opened her mouth, trying to get up and help him up. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"

He had just been discharged from the hospital; she hoped her actions hadn't caused him any new trouble.

Gilbert didn't reply, just stared at her with a gaze as sharp as nails. "Tell me, what's this chase after Edgar all about, huh?"

Sherilyn bit her lip, remaining silent.

Gilbert's grip on her chin tightened his lips curled into a sneer, his tone biting, What, can't stand seeing him with another woman? Feeling upset? Want to snatch him back?

Sherilyn fell silent for a moment, then took a deep breath. "If I say that's not what I was thinking, would you believe me?" "Hmph!"

Gilbert scoffed, countering her

question with another, "Then tell me, you chasing after Edgar?

"I'm sorry..."

Sherilyn gave him a sincere look; she knew she had messed up and was thankful for his help. "Thank you."

Gilbert's breath hitched at her words. Sorry? Thank you?

Was this how a couple should talk to each other?

Sherilyn's gaze drifted down to his hand... Was his hand bleeding?

Did he hurt it when they fell?

"Let me see your hand..." Sherilyn reached out to hold his hand.

"Don't touch me!"

Gilbert pulled his arm back, his voice cold as ice, "All you care about is Edgar. Whether I'm dead or injured, does it matter to you?"

He turned abruptly and got into the car.

David had already driven the car around to their side.

Sherilyn frowned, following him into the car.

As the car pulled away, the atmosphere inside was oppressively silent.

Sherilyn wanted to check his hand, but Gilbert wouldn't even look at her, closing his eyes and resting his head back as if she were a thousand miles away.

Soon, they arrived at the dance studio.

David parked right at the entrance.

Sherilyn took a deep breath, "Gilbert..."

"Get out," Gilbert cut her off, refusing to engage.

With no other option, Sherilyn got out of the car, and as she closed the

door behind her, she sincerely said, "I'm sorry, I apologize to
