Chapter 44
Alaric came over too, his expression a tangled web of emotions as he looked at Lemira. He didn't have to drop Evelina off at school today, but for some reason, he ended up doing so anyway. After all, he knew Lemira would definitely be at school today.
He hadn't slept a wink last night. He actually received a restraining order from her. What was all that about?
Seeing Alaric show up didn't surprise Lemira, "Isn't Evelina often out late with you guys, anyway?"
Evelina's eyes reddened, looking aggrieved, "Lemmy, how could you say that?"
"Lemira, what nonsense are you spouting? Eve is my sister! Apologize to her now!"
Lemira's gaze was cold, "She started it, I'm just returning the favor."
Evelina's voice was shaky with sobs, "I-I didn't mean it like that, you misunderstood."
Alaric's temper, barely contained, flared up again, "Lemira, look at what you've turned into. Weren't you with the school doctor last night? That's the truth!"
Lemira looked at him silently, her gaze tranquil.
After Alaric had spoken, he immediately regretted it, but with so many eyes on him, he didn't offer an explanation.
Lemira found it ridiculous, "That's none of your business."NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
She turned and walked towards the classroom.
"Hold on, what do you mean it's none of our business? You're getting too bold, just because you won a spot in the match. Why so gloating?"
Lemira just scoffed, without turning back. Sitting at her desk, she completely ignored everyone outside.
Alaric, watching Lemira's distant demeanor, felt a fire burning inside him. But he dared not do too much, especially since he was restrained and shouldn't even be at school.
Seeing the situation, Evelina said intentionally, "Alaric, it's my fault for asking Lemmy too many questions, making her upset. But I was just worried she'd do something foolish in a fit of anger." "I know, you meant well, but she doesn't appreciate it."
Alaric was frustrated, "Lemira's become so temperamental, she listens to no one, it's like she's a completely different person. What does she want us to do to make her happy?"
A sneer flickered in Evelina's eyes. Lemira had been distancing herself for a while now, and he was just realizing something was off?
To her, that was good news for sure. Changing the subject, she said, "What about the school doctor, Alaric? What are you planning to do?"
"Make that man pay, of course!" Alaric headed straight for the principal's office. This situation needed to be resolved.
After achieving her aim, Evelina went back to the classroom.
Passing by Lemira, she whispered, "Alaric's gone to see the principal."
Lemira's expression changed, knowing she had inadvertently caused trouble for Orion. She stood up, but then the teacher walked in, "Let's start the class." Lemira had no choice but to sit down again.
Throughout the lesson, she was distracted. When the class finally ended, Lemira stepped out to call Orion, worried.
Orion picked up quickly, his voice calm, "What's up?"
"Alaric went to see the principal. You might be in trouble, but don't worry, I'll explain everything."
"Kid, you don't need to worry about adult stuff!" His tone was confident, even arrogant.
Lemira almost thought she had heard wrong. After all, Orion was usually reserved and cool, the introverted type.
But somehow, she believed him. After hanging up, Lemira returned to her seat, focusing on her revision. With just over a month until the exams, freedom was in sight.
After school, Lemira packed her bag, planning to visit the infirmary. But at the classroom door, she saw Lucian holding a giant teddy bear.
Lemira stopped in her tracks.
Lucian approached her, "Lemmy, you were amazing in the playoff, so I got you this gift. Congratulations, and I look forward to your performance in the finals." The finals?
