CHAPTER 54
Solomon was indeed a the professors‘ favorite student. Although he hadn’t majored in the same field as Miranda, they could find common ground in their conversations. Miranda felt quite happy that they could have deep discussions about their studies.
She was currently preparing for the postgraduate admission exams. Although she had mastered most of the content, she was still
unfa with the mainstream research directions in her field.
This required extensive reading of papers and journals over a long period of time. It was impossible to achieve it overnight.
In this aspect, Solomon was naturally more knowledgeable than her. She’d been out of school for several years, whereas he was currently a postgraduate student.
Behind them, Hansel couldn’t stop himself from clenching his fists as he watched them chatting away happily.
Miranda was so heartless toward him. She’d refused to meet him no matter how much he’d begged her, and yet she was smiling so happily with another man!
Miranda had prepared a sumptuous feast with a variety of dishes to cater to every taste. Solomon was aware of her excellent culinary skills, but he was still shocked by the variety of dishes she’d prepared.
“Aren’t these too many dishes for just the two of us?” he asked.
Miranda said with a smile, “You’ve helped me so much. Preparing a meal like this is the least I can do to express my gratitude.”
Solomon scratched his head, feeling a little embarrassed. “Actually, I haven’t really helped much. Your efficiency at studying is much better than what I’d imagined.”

He could clearly see her progress while they studied together. Not only was she quick to understand, but she had the ability to easily retain the information. He rarely needed to explain things to her a second time.
Miranda said, “Studying is just a part of it. I’m most grateful for your help in finding materials for my research. Thanks to you, I was able to borrow original resources that were only accessible to Bedford College students.”
Solomon exclaimed in surprise, “So, you’ve been reading research papers while preparing for the exams simultaneously…”
Suddenly, he understood why Christine valued Miranda so highly.
Solomon hung around her place for a while after they finished eating. The sky had turned completely dark by the time he stood up to leave.
Miranda saw him off downstairs on her way to take out the trash.
“Your cooking is really delicious. Thank you for the meal.”
“You’re welcome.”
“Well…” Solomon scratched his head. “I’ll head back to the college now. Will I see you at the library tomorrow?”
“Sure,” Miranda replied.
At that moment, Paul approached them. He seemed to be on his way home from the lab, and he still had a grim expression on his face.
Solomon immediately straightened up before greeting him, “Dr. Jefferson! Do you live in this building too?”
Paul looked up and saw Miranda standing next to Solomon at the entrance of their apartment building. His gaze fell on the latter, who seemed familiar to him. “Are you from Bedford College?”
“Yes, Dr. Jefferson. I’m from the Faculty of Bioinformatics. I took your

course on the fundamental principles of physics,” Solomon answered.
“I see.”
Miranda wanted to greet Paul as well, but his gaze didn’t seem to land on her. He walked straight upstairs after Solomon stepped aside. She could only shrug.
“I never thought that Dr. Jefferson would be living in this apartment building as well. What a coincidence! Solomon exclaimed excitedly.
“I took his course before. He’s an amazing lecturer. My roommate wanted to take his course this semester, but he couldn’t get a spot. I heard most of the students who got in were ladies…”
As Paul reached the stairway landing, he glanced back at the two people outside. If he remembered correctly, that young man’s name was Solomon Hall.
It was the first time he’d seen someone else appear at Miranda’s place. Perhaps he was her boyfriend?
Paul withdrew his gaze and laughed to himself. What did that have to do with him?
After seeing Solomon off, Miranda turned into another alley to dispose of her trash. Suddenly, a dark figure rushed out and grabbed her wrist.
Miranda’s scalp prickled with fear. Just as she was about to struggle, she heard a familiar voice that was dripping with sarcasm.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
