Silas sighed and said, “Since you want to change the situation, why don’t you talk to her and make things clear?”
Paul remained silent while Silas continued, “You’re scared, Paul. You’re afraid that she’ll reject you once you bring everything out in the open. Then, the two of you can’t even remain friends. Isn’t that right?”
Paul still didn’t reply.
Silas frowned. “This isn’t like you. The Paul I know is sharp and decisive. He wouldn’t falter or back down just because of an uncertain outcome.
“She said that she’s not considering it for now. It’s just temporary! People’s thoughts change. Just because she turned you down subtly back then doesn’t mean that she’d still push you away now, understand?”
Paul was taken aback.
Silas patted him on the shoulder. “Bro, someone else is going to swoop in if you keep hesitating. Then, you’ll definitely be crying in regret.
“Miranda is really popular. Forget the two students who fought over her before. Look at the young man from today. He’s handsome, young, and energetic. He’s probably from a well–off family judging by his clothes…”
“Shut up!” Paul snapped.
Silas grinned to himself. Now Paul was feeling a sense of crisis. He was looking forward to seeing how panicked Paul would get!
Miranda dropped off Fiona at the Garrison estate and handed the medicine to the butler. She gave him detailed instructions on its usage before driving off.
Fiona wanted her to stay for dinner, but Miranda already had plans with Sebastian and Madison, “Grandma, I’ll come and visit you in a few days. I’ve already made plans with my classmates tonight.”
“Alright, go ahead and do your thing!” Fiona said.
When Miranda arrived at the restaurant, Sebastian and Madison were already seated. They were pointing at the cup of latte and chatting. Madison was talking nonstop, while Sebastian sat across from her. He was watching her intently and occasionally chiming in.
“Seriously, this latte tastes off. It’s not nearly as good as the one from the store outside our campus gate!” Madison was complaining.
Sebastian chimed in, “Yeah.”
“Why are you agreeing? You haven’t even tried it, and you’re already forming an opinion?”
Sebastian grabbed the cup and took a sip. “Do you want me to be honest?” noveldrama
Madison waited expectantly.
He replied, “I can’t tell the difference.”
Madison was rendered speechless. Well, it was her fault for having expectations on men.
“Have you been waiting long?” Miranda asked as she walked in.
“Miranda!” Madison beamed.
Sebastian got up and offered Miranda his seat. Then, he naturally moved to sit next to Madison. No one thought anything of his gesture.
“Miranda, you said yesterday that you had something important to discuss with us?”
As Miranda signaled to the waiter to serve the dishes, she took a business card out of her bag and handed it to them. Madison took the card and glanced briefly. “Materials development? Chief expert?”
“That’s right.” Miranda quickly explained how she got the card, skipping over the details of her encounter and meal with Sawyer. “As far as I know, their company

a new type of thermosensitive material. It was said to have 100% temperature sensitivity accuracy.
“Didn’t you two mention before that the seventh measuring device lacks precision, which made it impossible to input data to our desired decimal place? What if we replaced the sensor with this new material?
“Of course, this is just an idea. Whether the new material meets our expectations still needs further verification. The meeting today is mainly to discuss whether this idea is feasible and worth trying.”
Miranda looked at the two of them when she finished speaking.
Sebastian and Madison were both researchers in her lab and her business partners. They would have to agree on any major decisions for the lab before carrying it out.
Miranda came to them with a collaborative attitude, but their reactions took her by surprise.
