Chapter 0957

In the morning, soft sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the side of Miranda’s sleeping face. The edges of the curtains swayed in the breeze silently.

Miranda was awakened by the sound of her phone ringing. She answered groggily, “Hello, Grandpa?”

Aren’s voice came through. “Are you still sleeping? I’ll call you back later…”

“It’s alright, I’m awake now. I’ve been resting at home lately and haven’t been going to the lab, so I just slept in for a bit. Is something the matter, Grandpa?”

A sigh came from the other end before Aren started explaining.

It turned out that his old friend had suffered a sudden heart attack the night before and couldn’t be saved in time. He was gone just like that.

Aren had received a phone call that morning from the bereaved family, asking him to come over and help.

He explained, “Mr. Chutney had passed away so swiftly without much suffering, but he left behind his widowed wife and young child. Since there was no one to take charge, they had no choice but to turn to me. I can’t refuse to help after decades of friendship.

“However, your grandma needs to go to the Municipal Healing Center for her follow–up. Sam is on a business trip. After thinking it over, I can only feel reassured if you could accompany her…”

“Grandpa, you’re being too formal about this,” Miranda replied, “It’s only right for me to accompany Grandma. There’s nothing troublesome about it. Go ahead and help your friend’s family. I’ll take care of Grandma.”

“Oh, good.”

At 9:00 am, Miranda drove to the Garrison estate.

Fiona had already gotten ready and was standing at the door with her bag in hand, waiting for Miranda. Aren was by her side, and the two of them were talking.

{

“Why did you call Miranda to pick me up? She’s so busy with her lab work and studies. Do you need to bother her for something so trivial? See, you’ve made her worry about me again,” Fiona scolded Aren relentlessly. noveldrama

Aren stood by and nodded meekly as he listened. “Yes, yes. You’re absolutely right. However, only asked her because she mentioned she was taking some time off recently…”

I

Fiona wasn’t having it. “So what if she’s taking time off? Does that mean she should spend it accompanying an old lady like me to the hospital? It’s not even a good place to go. Why bother

her?

Chapter 0957

There are housekeepers and maids at home. You just focus on what you have to do. Do you think I’d have no one to accompany me to the hospital?

Miranda opened the car door and walked over with a smile. Grandma! I insisted on coming. Please, don’t blame Grandpa.”

Aren’s heart swelled with warmth. His granddaughter was truly an angel!

“Fine, I won’t say another word to him,” Fiona replied with a smile. “Have you had breakfast? There’s some ready at home. Mrs. Moore-

“No need, I’ve already eaten. Let’s go, Grandma.” Miranda opened the car door and helped her in. Then, she turned to give Aren a reassuring look before walking to the driver’s seat. She started the engine and drove off.

Fiona’s vision had improved significantly since undergoing acupuncture treatment, but she was still on medication, Regular follow–ups were necessary to adjust the prescription based on her progress.

The doctor Fiona had an appointment with today at the Internal Medicine Department of the Municipal Healing Center, Dr. Clement Hugh, was the one overseeing her treatment. He was very familiar with her condition.

“How’s your vision lately?” Clement asked.

“It’s getting clearer, but I occasionally see shadows flash by.”

He nodded. “That’s normal during the treatment period. There’s no need to worry as long as it’s not that frequent or severely impacts your sight. Any pain in your eyes?”

“Not all the time. It’s only in certain situations, like when it’s windy or after coming into contact with cold water,” Fiona replied.

Clement advised, “Your eyes have been suffering from chronic issues for a long time. It’s already quite good for your vision to recover to this extent. As I always say, you have to take care of them. Avoid strong emotions, and don’t cry…

“I’ll adjust the dosage of several herbs in the prescription this time. The usage remains the same. One dose for internal use and one for external application.”

“Alright.” Fiona nodded obediently as she listened.

Her cooperative demeanor was completely different from how she used to be. Now that Fiona had her daughter, son–in–law, and granddaughter with her, she was determined to restore her eyesight and nurture her health. That way, she could stay with them for a long, long time.
