Chapter 0942

At the end of May, Mindy traveled to Jandersville for the launch event of an Intellectual Property adaptation movie.

Since it was the weekend, Lionel accompanied his wife. He also brought Miranda a large bag of pre–packaged braised beef and six cans of homemade pickles.

“It’s all organic and no additives, And make sure you share some with Paul–don’t keep it all for yourself,” he said before rushing off.

The event organizers had arranged their accommodations. Since the venue was some distance away from the Garrison estate, the couple decided to stay at a hotel for convenience. However, they managed to find an afternoon to visit Aren and Fiona and even had dinner with them.

The elderly couple understood that their daughter had a busy schedule. Since their son–in–law was also tied up, they didn’t insist on them staying the night.

Once Aren finished his work, he and Fiona planned to head to They weren’t worried about not seeing Mindy and Lionel again.

la for the summer.

As Miranda watched her father hurry off, she glanced at the pile of pre–package braised beef at her feet and sighed. She packed half of it into another bag, added three jars of pickled vegetables, and planned to give it to Paul when he came home.

She was about to head to bed after finishing three papers at 11:00 pm. Yet, there was still no sound from the opposite side of the hall.

Worried she might’ve missed him, she walked out and knocked on the door. “Dr. Jefferson, are you home?” There was no answer, so she figured he was probably pulling another all–nighter in the lab.

Miranda didn’t think much of it. She had spent many nights in the lab, and Joli practically

lived there.

Madison had even joked, “Why not get two more wardrobes? Miranda can buy some pots and pans for the place. What’s the difference between this and your own home, right?”

A few days later, Joli did find a second–hand wardrobe and placed it in his break room. “I thought it’d help keep things organized, so the clothes aren’t so messy,” he explained.

It was something he had never really cared about before. Who cared if things were messy as long as they were wearable?

But with two women now in the lab and Sebastian being particularly neat, Joli realized it was better to keep things tidy.

After a while, Madison noticed the change in him. “Why do I feel like you’ve become more handsome lately?”

He had started washing his hair more often, changing clothes more regularly, and smiling

more. Joli had always been good–looking, but with clearer skin and a bit more attention to grooming, his charm was becoming more noticeable.

Sebastian didn’t say anything. But the next day, he showed up with a new hairstyle and a trench coat he didn’t normally wear.

Madison asked, “Did you get a perm?”

He replied, “Yeali.”

“Scumbag!”

Sebastian was caught off guard by the comment.

Joli passed by and overheard their conversation. Seeing Sebastian’s lack of reaction, he pointed at him and joked, “styled–up scumbag.”

Sebastian smirked. “I know.” Then, he walked off casually.

But the next day, he reverted to his old hairstyle.

Madison nodded approvingly, “This one looks better. novelbin

Sebastian smirked and thought, “Yep. This is the look I’m sticking with from now on.

Joli couldn’t help but feel a little envious. After all, it must have been expensive to get it styled and restyled so quickly, right?

Back to the present, Miranda moved the bag of braised beef back to the living room and placed it in a corner since she couldn’t pass it to Paul. She planned to give it to him the next time they saw each other.

A week passed, and despite spending three days at the lab and four days at home, she still hadn’t run into Paul. Even when she went to the garage to grab her car, his car was absent from its usual spot.

afrowned. Could Paul still be recovering and back in the hospital?
