Revealing the truth
“I only used Mr. Steven to get close to your family. I’m the one who got him fired so he could come to work for your father. With the close friendship between your mother and Lydia, I easily got him to work at White’s Transport Company. Knowing all of my father’s weaknesses enabled me to control him.” She touched Melissa’s hair with a smug on her face. “Your uncle Luke thought he could use me for drug trafficking, but I manipulated him instead. I found out about his plan to destroy the White Company, so I used him to get what I wanted and lured your father out. Your stupid uncle thought I’m naïve, yet I ran my businesses under his nose. He even sent me to find the person using your identity for human and drug trafficking in his territories several times.” She said pacing around the room.
“You are sick Diana. How could you do this to the people who cared about you?”
“Cared about me? No one ever cared about me Melissa, they only felt sorry for me. From my so called parents to Luke Edward, my enemy, yet I thought we had a similar target. Luke was the only man in my life who never looked at you with lust, but his protectiveness of you was infuriating. That’s why he had to go. He cared for his family greatly. Used me for his pleasure and set me aside whenever he was satisfied. As for you Melissa, I was the employee’s daughter you dragged around whenever you needed to go shopping. Buying me cheap clothes showed me how low you perceived me.”
“No Diana, I loved you. I still love you like a sister. I always took you along not because I felt sorry but because I want to share everything I had with you.” Melissa tried to explain as Diana matched towards her.
“Your father deprived me of a family.” She roared, pinning Melissa against the headboard. “Blame him for everything because I will make you feel the loss that you will wish to end your life.”
“No Diana, you probably misunderstood. My father…”
“Shut up. Your family is full of monsters, Melissa. They put my family down every time, starting from the day your grandfather Edward walked into my grandfather’s life. He became Johnson’s best friend and pushed my grandfather away. They still favored Edward, even after my grandfather had him imprisoned. He took my grandfather’s territories and destroyed everything he had worked for. But now, I’ll take it all back.”
Feeling partly guilty, Melissa just stared at Diana with tears in her eyes. She was close to her father, yet she didn’t know him at all. Her entire childhood was a lie.
“Making you cry helplessly is thrilling Melissa, that night I wanted you to wake up feeling filthy for losing your innocence to an old man…”
“You drugged me that night?” Melissa asked, trying to push her off.
“Yes, I lost when you ended up in Mark Johnson’s room but I still got my way when I crushed your parents to death. Crying all alone with no one to turn to, was sweet revenge.” Diana laughed, clapping her hands.
“How cruel are you Diana? Did you plan for my son’s kidnapping as well?” Melissa asked though she already had an answer. Every negative thing that happened in her life was Diana’s way of hurting her.
The person she loved and cared for like a sister had destroyed her life all because of some sick revenge.
“That boy was lucky he got away just like his father did. Get this Melissa, I will take everyone you love from you while you watch helplessly. Ha ha ha, Melissa Melissa.” She lightly slapped her face twice then caught the tear falling down Melissa’s cheek with her finger, then tasted it in her mouth.
“Mm.. salty, just as I like it. Get some rest. We have a long way to go. This is only the beginning.” Diana walked out laughing.
Lying on the bed, Melissa cried feeling lost and powerless. She didn’t know how she could get away from Diana when the people she loved, the only people who could look for her, were gone.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“You still have Tommy Melissa. You can’t let Diana hurt him.” She reminded herself, placing her hand on the necklace Mark gave her on their wedding day.
“If only you were here, Mark.” With her eyes closed, she ran her hand along the necklace, wishing he was lying beside her.
With a heavy sigh, her eyes closed involuntarily, and fell asleep from exhaustion.
……
“Why is there no news yet? I want to see their lifeless bodies.” Diana shouted, throwing the glass on the wall and smashing it into pieces.
“The police have closed off the area. They prohibited anyone from getting near that compound. We sent a drone to find out what happened, but they shot it down.” One of her men explained.
“This is not good.” She tapped her nails on the table.
“They are hiding something. We have to move out now before it’s too late.” Her right hand man suggested.
“You’re right. I don’t like this silence. Tell them to have the plane ready. We leave first thing tomorrow morning.” She ordered them. “I can’t let you go, Melissa. Not when I’ve finally succeeded.” She murmured, picking up the phone to make a call.
“We are leaving the country tomorrow at eight hundred.” She informed the person on the other side of the phone.
“I asked you to kill them all. Why is she still alive?” The male voice asked.
“I did what you sent me to do as per our agreement. I can’t kill her, killing her is too easy. I want her to live in agonizing pain. Watching her beg to die will be the best revenge.” She said before ending the call.
