Unveiling the Genius Behind the Divorcee

Chapter 1

Chapter 1 Gavyn, Let’s Get a Divorce

Under the dim light, Aylin buried her head under the soft quilt. The back of her neck was tense and rosy, while she was trying her best to swallow the groan due to the pain.

The temperature in the room rose slightly, and in the next second, she was pushed away.

In the three years of marriage, Aylin was already used to being treated by her husband coldly. She had no choice. After all, she loved him deeply.

Ignoring the tearing pain from her body, she casually put on a thin shirt and brought in the carefully prepared cake.

"Gavyn, it's your birthday today. Grandpa told me to make sure you had a bite of the cake." Clank.

Gavyn buckled his belt and only turned to look at her after a while.

"Aylin, do you think I'll listen to you, just because you use Grandpa as an excuse?"

Under the light, Gavyn's temperament was cold. His tailored suit suited his tall figure perfectly, and his indifferent voice showed how impatient he was. His freezing gaze made Aylin feel a chill from deep down.

In contrast, Aylin was wearing a house dress, which was already whitish after times of washing, and it made her look like an ugly duckling.

"It's not..."

She seemed at a loss because of the panic. "I just wanted to say that we've been married for three years, but you haven't spent a birthday at home yet..."

Aylin's voice became lower and lower as she spoke.

They had been married for three years. Except for his physiological needs or visiting his grandfather at the old house, he never came to her at their own home. She was alone in the empty villa as if she were a wandering ghost who had been all alone.

"No!"

His voice was utterly cold as he smashed the cake on the floor.

"Aylin, do you really think you are Cinderella? I'm warning you. I only married you to make Grandpa happy. If someone else had saved Grandpa, I would have married her as well!"

He thought, you come from the slums originally, and now you have incomparable status and money.

Do you really think I don't know what you are scheming?

The expression on Gavyn's face was ruthless and mocking.

Aylin's expression froze. Before she could retort, he told her something else that shocked her. "Laila is back. I'll go pick her up."

At that precise moment, the pain in her heart was far worse than that in her body.

The words Gavyn said in his deep, sensual voice pierced her heart accurately like a sharp blade.

It was so painful that her face turned pale, and her lips trembled violently.

Laila Marsh...

The name was Aylin's nightmare for three years.

For the past three years, she had heard Laila's sobbing from the phone and Gavyn's promise for marrying her for sure countless times.

She had never seen Gavyn treat someone so gently.

Gavyn glanced at Aylin and was about to leave.

Just as he stepped out of the room, Aylin immediately came back to her senses and chased after him. "Gavyn, don't go."

She hastily caught up to him and grabbed his sleeve, begging desperately and heartbrokenly, "Let me celebrate your birthday for you once, OK? Gavyn, I am your legal wife. Why are you treating me like this?"

She had no idea what she had said displeased Gavyn, yet he suddenly turned furious.

He reached out and clutched her chin.

His eyes were colder than ice picks.

"I have never acknowledged you as my wife!"

In Gavyn's eyes, Aylin was just a girl from the slums. Due to a coincidence, she saved Steve Delacruz, Gavyn's grandfather, and pleased Steve so much that he insisted on having her as his granddaughter- in-law. She became Gavyn's wife without Gavyn's consent. As far as Gavyn was concerned, such a scheming woman was not worthy of his wife!

In Aylin's humble eyes, Gavyn raised his hand impatiently, robbing her of her last glimmer of hope. Aylin caught him by the corner of his coat. Caught off guard, she was swung away by him. She lost her balance and crashed straight into the edge of the table!

Bang!

She heard a dull sound, and at the same time, she felt a sharp sting.

Aylin felt the warmth from behind her head. After she saw the red stain, she felt as if a switch had been turned on somewhere in her brain. Some both familiar and strange fragments of memory flooded into her mind, filling in her blank memory.

She recalled.

She recalled everything!

She was the daughter of the Koch family. She had lived a life of luxury and had been pampered by everyone since she was a child!

What was she doing?

After losing her memory, she, the apple of the Koch family's eye, married a man who loved someone else and lived such a humble life?

The dim light covered the astonishment that flashed across Gavyn's eyes.

She sat slumped on the ground pale, her head stained with scarlet blood.

Gavyn subconsciously wanted to bend over and help her up, but in the end, he didn't do anything.

He admitted that in the past three years, Aylin had been gentle and obedient. She was as humble as a maid and had never caused him any trouble. She was a perfect wife.

So what?

She was going after nothing but his money. As for his love, she didn't deserve it at all!

The more he thought, the gloomier his face turned. "You are going all out indeed, Aylin. I'm amazed by your determination to get what you want. You are even willing to hurt yourself. I guess I didn't give you enough credit..."

His deep voice was filled with ridicule.

His words took away her last ray of hope.

Before Gavyn could finish speaking, Aylin had already stood up. The gentleness in her eyes had completely disappeared, replaced by indifference.

"Gavyn, let's get a divorce!"

It was the first time he had looked at her seriously since he had gone downstairs. The seriousness of

her eyes seemed authentic, and he even saw a trace of ... disgust.

He felt that he had seen wrongly.

"Aylin, others call you Mrs. Delacruz, but it doesn't make you part of the Delacruz family."

Gavyn frowned and stared sharply at the skinny woman in front of him. "Do you think you can afford

to ask me for a divorce?"

His tone was cold and disdainful.

Aylin went furious at once. She wiped the blood on her face and stood up with a rush. "That's not your

concern, Mr. Delacruz."

She thought, you think I can't live without you, don't you?

That might have been true in the past.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

Yet now, you may not be richer than me!

Aylin stormed upstairs. Three minutes later, she went downstairs with several pieces of A4 paper still

warm and slapped them heavily on the table in front of Gavyn with a snap.

"Sign it. From now on, we will be strangers!"
