Union Of Death (Secrets of The Famiglia Part 2)

Chapter 41 (Marco)

Chapter 41 (Marco)

There are tipping points in life, incidents that change the course you are on. I always fought for different courses, hoping to influence a scenario that saved a bit more lives than I killed, but God must have had other plans for me because I found that the more, I wanted one thing, the less of it I had.

Keeping my family safe was one of those things, but upon Ren’s death, I dishonored my promise. Avenging him became the next course I was set on, and to bring my sibling's closure I went after it with full force, but Aliyana Capello came between me and that fate when she chose to protect her friend. I don’t blame her for making the choice, for choosing his life over our love.

I still keep the letter she left me at the Manor. I read her writing every night, hoping to try and find a small sign that she didn’t want to rip my heart out, that feeling the way she did was just her way of trying to cope. But that is not going to happen.

My phone rings and I swirl the still full glass of amber liquid in my hand as I contemplate not answering it. But I do it anyway.

“Lucca just blew up Aliyana’s house.” My glass slips from my hand as every thought, every moment of us fades.

“Is she?” I close my eyes, not wanting to know but needing it.

“No, I’m on my way there now.” Killer cuts the call and I trample over the shards of glass, rush toward my Penthouse entrance and leave. I don’t waste a second just as I don’t think about anything else, besides her smiling at me.

I get to Aliyana’s house, the gates are open. There are police everywhere, sirens, people are standing around as her screams whistle through the air. I jump out of my car looking at the house, which now is half gone, it can be rebuilt.

I see her. Long blonde hair in a tangled mess, her short form on the floor. My legs take me closer, as her cries become louder. My brother Leonardo holds her. I get closer, and that is when I see it, the girl on the floor, pregnant, dead.

It is said that death comes in three.

I watch my brother hold the woman I love, who hails for her sister, and he who tries to breathe for his wife and unborn child, and I feel my own tear slipping down my face because I know without a shadow of a doubt, there was no coming back from this.

Aliyana screams, and I take another step closer to her when a hand holds me still. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“No, let her.”

I’m not sure if fate is just a wicked creature because Aliyana sees me, and she rushes toward me, and I stand here waiting. Her face is red, as her tears rain down. The night's chill potent, as her hand extends to my face.

Leonardo and Deno try to subdue her as she attacks me.

“You did this, YOU. Lucca wanted to hurt you. She is death and it’s her blood on your hands.” She is screaming and I know what she’s saying is true. Lucca knew my heart, he went after it.

I stand here frozen watching my brothers hold on to the woman who has every right to kill me, who has every right to blame me.

“Answer your phone, Marco..” It is said Death comes in threes.

I pick up my phone and I say not a word after I hear the other person speak. Looking at Aliyana who is telling me with every part of her being how she hates me I turn my back on her and walk away.

It is said Death comes in threes, today It came in fours, Guilia Catelli, and her 7-month-old baby boy, Marcello Catelli, my father, and Massimo Ricci, a pilot, and friend.

Today I woke up with a stick up my ass, pissed at God for not making this shit easy, tonight I question what is the actual reason of faith when it fucks you like this.
