Unforgiven Sins

Cinyla’s POV

Today is Saturday and I immediately go straight to the house of my detective friend that I know who can help me. It’s not far from our house, in fact, it’s just a short drive from us. He is Joshua Carl Gonzaga, the great detective I met when he was my classmate in my second year of college.

I am currently walking to ring the doorbell at his house, I no longer go straight to his house because there is often no one in his office. I just hope he’s not busy so he can take care of me and he can do the things I want to know.

I ignored him and get inside his house so we could talk properly. But it looks like he knows already.

I don’t know what he wants me to do but I’m just nervous right now. Before I could think of anything, I took out my cell phone and showed him the number and text messages of the person I wanted him to know.

“No worries! You too! ” I said happily and also responded with a hug to me. “Say Cinyla. I will inform you later, as soon as possible. Wait, do you have anything else to do later? ” he asked, looking seriously into my eyes.

I was devastated by his stare but I didn’t mind it, I immediately replied, “Nothing, Joshua. Why? ”

“Can you join me for dinner, if you can go with me at 2:00 in the afternoon?”

“Of course, sure! I can and I want to relax. ”

It was exactly 2:00 in the afternoon when Joshua and I went out, I didn’t know what he was up to but I was nervous. I also don’t know why I agreed, but the only thing I know is that whatever his intentions were, I would have responded, and then I would know that it was really true.

“Are you okay, Cinyla? Don’t worry, I won’t let you fail. I’m just behind you. ” He was encouraging me at the same time as he looked seriously into my eyes.

“I am hoping, Joshua. What exactly is the plan? ”

He approached me and there we discussed the plan.

Even though what he was saying still confused me, I had confidence in Joshua that I would also know the truth. Am I ready when I find out? As I thought about the possible scenarios, I also thought I would hurt BenChua.

I know he already likes me and then I will do this, I will let him fall after I just leave him in the air.

“Can you do it, Cinyla?” I understood his question and felt a pain in my heart. What does this mean? I can do it! I can do it!

Without hesitation, I answered immediately. “Of course!”

“Good to know. Don’t avoid him, he needs to be more attached to you and for you to know the truth better. Anyway, regarding the stranger who called you and texted you. I will just connect him to my device for when he calls and I can detect it.

I nodded and said, “Yeah! But I only have your old number here, 789 is the end. Is that right?”

He smiled and replied, “Yes you are still saved it, huh? I never  change my  number.”

I was surprised by what he said but I just ignored it. I just remembered everything he said because that’s what was more important. It is important for me to know the truth so that I can stop thinking.

“All right Joshua, I’m leaving. I’ll just text you when I need something or say something else.” I smiled and stood up as well. I adjusted myself because I also had to go home early to rest.

“Sure! I brought you outside. I know you need to rest well. Just do what we talked about. Just always answer the stranger who calls you. I know you know him but he’s just really hiding.

“Thank you very much, Joshua.” I hugged the man in front of me and I heard something he said but I didn’t fully understand.

The mini-bus stopped and the man on my left stood up, he dropped an envelope in his haste. I was going to chase him but suddenly the minibus started running so I just took it and looked if there was a number to call but I saw something else … It was different.

Finally, we met my beloved Cinyla. Soon, I will be with you and with your mom.

I swallowed even though I was not drinking, I felt like I was blinded by the intense tension I felt because of the simple letter on the front that was placed on the envelope.

The mini-bus stopped again, when I looked out the window I was with us. I go down while still holding the envelope I saw earlier. As I was walking slowly I received a call from mommy.

“Hello, Cinyla? Where are you? Go home. Faster!” This command makes me conscious. Mommy’s voice was strange now as if something strange had happened.

“It’s close, mommy!” I shouted and never turned off the call.  I ran inside as quick I am.

I hurried to open the gate and it wasn’t locked yet. Even the door to the courtyard was already open. My heartbeat was so fast.

“M-mommy!” I shouted and hurried up to her room.

But I was shocked by what I saw, I almost became a statue in my position. Why is he here?

“Sir B-BenChua?”

“Hi, love! How are you? I am so sorry to surprise you that I came here. ” He smiled at me while mommy suddenly left us for privacy.

I tried to fix myself and I was about to leave but I remembered what Joshua said. Don’t avoid him, take heart and that way you will get to know him.

He came closer to me and hugged me tightly. I wanted to remove his arms because I am mad at him but I decided to hide my cell phone and envelope inside my bag.

Then I remembered the law of Joshua. You need to win his heart and trust him. I responded to his hug as I thought and asked myself.
