Chapter 51
Karen said she would wait for Logan at his house, but it was just a way to save herself from humiliation.
In reality, even though she was specifically hired for Moore Estate’s garden renovation previously, she needed an appointment to enter Moore Estate. She had to get approval from the Moores and arrange a specific time for a visit.
After leaving Moore Corporation, Karen called Jocelyn. When Jocelyn answered, Karen asked, “Do you have time for coffee? My treat.”
Jocelyn laughed. “Aren’t you abroad?”
“I didn’t emigrate. I just went for some personal growth and relaxation. I just got back. I heard you recently returned as well.”
Rich people often emigrated, but the Moores never did. Karen had fallen in love with Logan at first sight years ago and wanted to marry him to become part of the Moores. As the Moores didn’t emigrate. she gave up any such plans for Logan’s sake.
“Sure, where should we meet?” Jocelyn agreed readily. Though their relationship wasn’t that deep, they had collaborated before.
“The same Starbucks outlet?”
“Okay, I’ll head over now. Do you need a ride?”
“No, I rented a car. My parents are on vacation, and I don’t feel like going home, so I’m staying at Glendale Grand Hotel for now.”
Karen avoided going home not just because her parents were away but also because she hoped to run into Logan. She knew he often dined at Glendale Grand Hotel. The hotel was managed by Ronald Moore, the second son of the Moore family.

Jocelyn was aware of Karen’s crush on Logan from their past. collaborations. Hearing that Karen was staying at Glendale Grand Hotel, she smiled but didn’t comment on Karen’s subtle hint.
After all, Logan was a billionaire and the pride of the Moore family. He was out of Karen’s league.
The Smith family was wealthy, but Jocelyn couldn’t compare to true aristocracy. Occasionally, she managed to attend high–society events through connections, even if only as a peripheral figure. Even she hadn’t had the chance to meet Logan in person, which only highlighted how unattainable he was.
“See you soon,” Jocelyn said and hung up.
Half an hour later, the two women met at Starbucks. Karen arrived first and had already ordered coffee for Jocelyn.
“Ms. Stone, long time no see.”
Karen smiled. “Yes, it has been a while.” She then handed a bag to Jocelyn. “These are skincare products I brought from abroad. There are two sets for you to try.”
Karen then looked Jocelyn over and complimented, “Ms. Smith, your look more beautiful and elegant than ever.”
Recognizing that it was her favorite brand, Jocelyn thanked Karen and replied confidently, “I’ve always been beautiful and elegant.”
