Chapter 31
Chapter 31
Logan put Finnegan down so that he could walk by himself. Lorraine said, “You should hold his bag for him.”
“It’s okay, Mom. I can carry it. Dad always says that we need to do whatever we can without expecting help,” Finnegan said, rejecting Logan’s offer to take his bag.
In truth, Logan had never helped them with their bags when he came. to pick them up. He would always tell them to carry their own bags. They were still in kindergarten, so their bags weren’t heavy.
Lorraine praised Finnegan. “You’re amazing, Finn.”
“I want to walk, too, Mom!” Luna wanted to be put down too.
Lorraine put her down, and she held Finnegan’s hand. Then, she reached for Lorraine’s hand with her free one while Finnegan did the same with Logan. The family of four headed toward Lorraine’s car.
Logan was handsome, and the children were adorable. Lorraine’s appearance wasn’t as outstanding as theirs, but she still looked good. Plenty of people watched them..
Once they were in the car and buckled in, Finnegan asked, “Can we go play at the park for a while before heading home, Mom?”
The twins had yet to experience going to the park with their mother by their side. Lorraine checked the time and agreed. Logan took the opportunity to say, “How about we spend the night in the city? I can show you my rented apartment.”
Finnegan and Luna looked at him. Luna wanted to remind him that they didn’t live in an apartment– their home was a beautiful villa. If they were to bring Lorraine home with them, she would find out the truth. When that happened, he couldn’t blame them for not helping
him keep his cover.
The twins had been feeling the pressure of lying these days. After all, it was their first time doing something like this, and the person they were lying to was their new mother.
Lorraine agreed when she thought about how she didn’t need to pick. fruits the next day. She said, “I’ll call my mom and let her know, then. We wouldn’t want to keep her waiting for us for dinner.”
Irene wouldn’t have started on dinner at this hour, so it wasn’t too late to inform her. That way, they wouldn’t waste any food. Lorraine immediately called Irene and told her they were spending the night in the city. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Knowing that Logan had a rented apartment in the city, Irene had no reason to object. In fact, she wanted nothing more than for Logan. and Lorraine to spend time together and build a relationship. She said, “Pass the phone to Lulu so that I can talk to her. I miss her. already.”
The Somners loved the twins. Who wouldn’t when they were so intelligent and adorable?
Lorraine handed the phone to Logan and gestured for him to pass the phone to the kids so that they could talk to Irene.
She drove and listened as Irene laughed on the other end of the line while speaking to the kids. They took turns to speak sweetly to her, which delighted her. Lorraine couldn’t help thinking how Irene adored them much more than she adored her own children.
As Lorraine drove and the kids chatted with Irene, Logan pulled out his phone. He wasn’t calling anyone. Instead, he texted the Moore family’s butler, Michael Anderson, and asked him to quickly
rent an apartment for him.
It didn’t need to be the best, but it couldn’t exactly be rundown either. It had to fit his identity as a construction worker.

Michael almost thought his eyes were playing tricks on him when he received the text. He even put on his reading glasses to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. Then, he was baffled.
Why on earth did Logan want to stay in a rented apartment when he had a lovely villa?
