“Stop Mia, whatever you’re doing to yourself isn’t fair.” She cried out for the uptenth time.
Since they returned from Ariel’s school, it had been the same issue. Mia hadn’t taken a drink or eaten, just sobbing and weeping.
” I wonder how he feels, he must hate me for this.” Mia yelled, not minding she might disturb her neighbors and can be sued.
” I’m sure he understands, he loves you. ”
“Why do I feel otherwise, was I so harsh with him?” She asked, looking so worried.
” What do you think? I still don’t understand why you did this. We are not sure if it’s your mother.” Emma lamented.
” The person who had called earlier, I heard my mum’s voice. The first time after 8 years. It was clear.” She was agitated and said so many things which Emma couldn’t understand.
” Take it easy, now breathe in.” She slowly commanded her, Mia didn’t want to listen but after so seconds of pleadings, she agreed.
“Someone called when we were there, he had a voice I had never heard before. It was so fearful.” Mia started off with an explanation.
“Okay?” She said eagerly waiting for what the story will turn out to.
” He claimed my mum was still alive, I doubted it but he allowed me hear her voice in a video call and I saw pictures I didn’t know how to feel, my mum was alive. She didn’t die.” Mia bursted out.
” But how is that possible, remember the doctors also confirmed her death.”
” I didn’t even have time to think, I was so overwhelmed with emotions.”
” It’s fine but how does it concern behaving so badly with Antonio and shutting down communication?” Emma asked in a saucy manner.
” The man who had called warned me about seeing Antonio, or else he would kill my mum.” She answered fidgeting.
Emma’s eyes opened in disbelief, Mia too observed her without blinking. The two ladies had the same thoughts, they had a similar suspect.
” Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
Before Mia could answer, she heard the doorbell and rushed to open hoping it was Antiono. The truth was that even though she sent him away, she still longed for him to come back. She had fallen deeply for him since the past few days. She was very disappointed when she saw it was Aaron and a beautiful unfamiliar figure. She couldn’t hide her disappointment as she sighed in disgust.
” Hello Miss Mia.” Antiono greeted politely.
Mia watched them for a while speechless and wondering what they were doing in her house.
” Mia…please let them in.” Emma muttered.
They entered her home and Piper couldn’t keep her compliments.
” You have a nice house…it’s neat and beautiful.”
Mia didn’t respond, so Piper had to ask.
” You must wonder why we are here?”
” Yes…I’m very surprised.”
” We are here for lunch and bond.” Aaron answered.

“No, he didn’t. What was he supposed to say.”
” Never mind, I will serve lunch.”
” Can I join you,” Piper asked, she sounded like she wanted to discuss something personal with her.
“Sure.” Even when it wasn’t willingly.
Before she left, she winked at Aaron but Emma won’t leave the sitting room.
” Please can Emma join us, you can lock at the doors if you think we would steal anything and leave.”
” No…that’s not true I’m not worried about that.”
They entered into the room,
“I found out something.” Piper started.
” What’s that?” Mia questioned.
” I know you must wonder who I am.”
” Yes…I have a right, don’t I?”
” Yes sure. I am Antonio’s sister, I haven’t been around for about 5 years and I stayed in the States most of my life.” She explained.
“Okay… Antiono didn’t mention he had a sister. I guess it was because of your absence.”
” Yes…due to personal and political reasons. I had to stay hidden.”
“I will take that.”
” So what are you making, I had to come for lunch because of the suspicions I had.”
“What suspicions?” She asked inquisitively.
Immediately, Ariel entered and muttered a greeting which sounded like a whisper to Mia. Piper smiled immediately, a replica of Antiono when he was much younger.
“How are you, you are really cute.” Ariel smiled at her prettily.
“You know Antiono, I’m his sister.”
She looked at Piper awkwardly and she was taken aback for a moment.
” Is anything wrong, you don’t know Antonio?”
” It’s something else.”
” Is Mr. Antiono angry with me and my mom.”
” I don’t know but I believe he’s not angry. He loves you so much and will never get angry at you”
“Will you please apologize to him?” She spoke softly and sweetly.
” Yes, sure I will.”
She smiled at her and walked away with the bowl of ice cream Emma had gave her.
” You have a pretty daughter, she has the same attitude when Antiono was younger.”
” You’re Antiono older sister?”
“No…younger but we grew up together. I was adopted.”
“Okay…that’s a better explanation. Antiono didn’t tell you anything?”
” No…he didn’t. I found out about your relationship myself. He’s so secretive and protective.”
She smiled like she knew what was coming.
” Are you scared of Charlotte?”
” No…why?”
” My brother is in love with you and I’m sure you’re in love with him.”
” That’s not true.”
” The only thing stopping you being together is Charlotte. My mum wants him to get Married to her but he will call of the wedding.”
” He won’t, I promise not after what happened.”
No wonder, Antiono requested her to see him.
Emma left with the tray and Piper hoped Aaron won’t be caught.
They walked together back to the dinning area and found Aaron eating hungrily.
They watched him but laughed loudly at the expression on Emma’s face. She looked shocked and astonished, Aaron noticed it and gave a dirty smirk. That was what he wanted and he got it.
He pretended to get angry and leave but after much pleadings from Mia he accepted but had to go out to make a call.
” Did you receive the message I sent?”
” Yes sir…” the receiver answered.
” Do trace the number and give me the information. I will be waiting.” He ended the call as he heard footsteps.
