Nicholas was speechless. He wondered why Bernard's retort sounded odd. In fact, it was rather harsh.

"Dinner is ready." At that moment, Lilith brought out the ravioli, prompting Wayne to hurry over and help her.

Lilith smiled upon noticing Bernard. "Bernard, you're here too."

"You've worked hard, Lilith," Bernard said shamelessly.

Hera almost choked on her own saliva. Even Lilith was startled, thinking she heard wrong. "Oh?"

"Bernard, you're going too far! Hera hasn't even married you, so how could you just call Mrs. Everett by her name? "Nicholas immediately protested.

"Exactly! You can't just do that! Hera is my fiancée, yet I'm not on a first-name basis with her mother. What are you in a rush for? Don't think you can trick Mrs. Everett just because you could bribe Mrs. Jones!" Thiago added.

"Why'd you do that?" Hera couldn't hold back her disgust.

Unbothered, Bernard wrapped his arm around Hera's shoulders as if he were showing off his possession of her." It's bound to happen, so I might as well get used to it first."

Hera wondered when did she ever agree to marry Bernard. Whatever. As long as he didn't get jealous, he could say whatever he wanted.

"Exactly. It's just a matter of time," Mildred joyfully exclaimed. She wished that Bernard and Hera could get married right now.

Thiago remarked, "I disagree. Hera is mine."

Catherine laughed too before gesturing for everyone to start dinner. "Alright, everyone. Quickly go wash your hands before having dinner. Otherwise, the food will get cold."

Luckily, the house was spacious enough, and the dining room was big enough for ten people.

Hera sat beside Catherine. Meanwhile, Bernard was the first to take the remaining seat beside Hera, leaving Nicholas and Thiago in shock. They ended up sitting next to Catherine and Bernard respectively.

"Hera, here's your favorite stuffed bell peppers." Thiago placed one on Hera's plate.

Bernard frowned. His scowl turned deeper when he saw Hera take a bite of it. Thus, he placed some short ribs on her plate.

Hera looked up at Bernard, who silently stared at the short ribs on her plate. She could almost hear him say that she would have to eat the food he served her since she ate something given by Thiago.

Hera ate the short ribs in resignation. Meanwhile, Thiago was delighted that Hera had taken a bite of the food he gave her. Thus, he gave her another stuffed bell pepper.

Bernard unhappily put more short ribs on Hera's plate.

"Hera likes crayfish." Tyler also placed crayfish on Hera's plate.

"Hera isn't picky with food, so she'll eat anything. But she can't have too much meat. She should have some greens as well," Samantha remarked while scooping some salad for Hera.

After Bernard passed some food to Hera, everyone did the same. It didn't take long for Hera's plate to be piled high

with food.

Hera finally couldn't take it any longer. "If none of you intend to eat, get lost!"

That made everyone stop piling her plate with food. They began to feast on their own dinner.

Nicholas put a spoonful of pudding in his mouth before spitting out a coin. He happily said, "I'm so lucky. I'm the first one to find a coin!"

"Seems like you'll be lucky this year. I've hidden ten coins in the pudding. Anyone who finds them is very lucky and will be wealthy this year," Mildred said with a smile.

"Since I found the first one, it'll be impossible for me to be unlucky!" Nicholas said before eating another spoonful of pudding, "Let's see whether I can find another."

The moment he finished speaking, Thiago spat out a coin. "Seems like my luck isn't too bad!"

Since two people had found silver coins, the atmosphere turned competitive. Everyone began to get some pudding for themselves.
