Chapter 33 In Edward’s office
After a while, I walked over to Edward’s office. I noticed that the door to Anna’s office was open. Anna herself sat there and flipped through the reports. Seeing me, she smiled, showing again her damn dimples, from which my heart sank. She was really glad to see me. She said ‘hello’ with only one lip. I realized that I had time to miss her a little and even forgot what Alexandra had told me…
In Edward’s office, we took care of work issues, not getting distracted by anything except the project. It turned out that many tasks had accumulated and Anna’s knowledge was not enough to solve them completely. And the deadlines were tight, and it was necessary to close the matter to start a new, more extensive project.
“I’m so glad you’re back.” Edward said. “You were only gone for a week, but the work almost stopped. Now about tonight, will you join me for dinner? I have reserved a seat at my favorite restaurant.”
It was so simple: my man just took and reserved a spot in the restaurant, knowing in advance that I would hardly turn him down.
“Is this a date?” I got more daring and decided to clarify.
“What do you think?” Edward winked at me mischievously. “Of course it is, damn it. I want to spend an evening with the woman I love.”
“Stop.” I said firmly. As much as I liked what was happening, it was necessary to slow down. “Slow down, Edward. What happened to you? And what about Sofia? She is still your wife and she is pregnant too. Of you.”
A shadow passed over the chief’s face at the mention of his wife’s name. He frowned, as if from a toothache, which bothered him, and replied, searching carefully for the words:
“I suggest not thinking about it yet. I’ll tell you everything tonight. I will answer all your questions. I only ask that you dress well. And enjoy the evening. Do I ask so much, Elvira?”
“It’s good. I agree. But only because I want to enjoy the evening.”
Without waiting for an answer from him, I left. In the hallway I met Anna, who was pretending to go somewhere on business. But I understood that she was standing and waiting for me.
“Can I steal some of your time?” She asked casually. I smiled, her words were like a tackle. I nodded.
Anna looked stunning. I don’t know what she did to herself this week, but her image was bolder than usual: a dark green fitted skirt made of leather material, a black turtleneck that accentuated the lines of the breasts, silver jewelry, black bobby pins, hair tied in a tail (and how could she restrain her curls?), everything seemed simple, understated, but very tasteful…
Her big eyes were expertly painted: shadows fading from pale purple to dark gray, plus perfectly aligned arrows. She decided not to put lipstick on her, and I guessed why.
If the rumors about Edward and Anna were just rumors, and Anna really didn’t care, then I would at least be surprised. Because in the background it looked like a very gray mouse.
My heart sank painfully at the thought.
She followed me to the office.
And there she pounced on me like a fury. Before I had time to say anything, she took possession of my mouth. Anna kissed me passionately as if she had kissed me for the last time, her tongue was very assertive and I was just in awe. Probably not even Edward kissed me so passionately. Anna bit my lip…
“Damn it.” I sighed.
I barely returned from vacation, and everything that I had escaped from fell back on me. I was confused by Edward’s behavior and his words (he really confessed his love to me!!!), plus the rumor that he and Anna were having an affair. And here Anna herself almost saddled me! What should I do with both?
“That?” She asked, breathing heavily. “Elvira, I’m in shock, but I missed you so much… I didn’t know this was happening at all! Now I want to eat you! Sorry to be blunt, of course…”
“Yes… Anna, I thought of you too.” I admitted. “Until this moment, I was sure I was made for boys. But now I don’t even know.” My lips trembled into a smile.
“I’m glad our feelings are mutual. I thought a lot about us and decided that I would not rush so as not to overwhelm you. In the meantime, we can communicate, get to know each other more, become friends. I want to know what kind of person I like. And before you go to work, will you accept my invitation to visit me?”This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
I opened my mouth and wanted to say to her: “Do you both coordinate or what?” But I realized in time that neither Edward nor Anna could know anything. Instead, I just nodded my head, realizing that I had agreed for a difficult day, Monday, to accept up to two date invitations, for both a man and a woman. I was sexually attracted to both, but having a relationship with both was an important and controversial topic for me.
With the first, because, damn it, he was married; with the second, because I was just afraid. How would it feel to date a woman? How would it feel to live with her and not be afraid of the reactions of others? How was this done at all?
Anna smiled with my consent and flew to me. I sat down in my office chair and decided that I wouldn’t rush to conclusions just yet. I would not allow feelings to prevail over the mind as much as possible. I would meet with both one and the other, to draw some conclusions more or less suitable for me.
