Chapter 57 I Will Protect You!
Chapter 57 I Will Protect You!
James was flipping through Kara's test paper to evaluate her weak points.
Kara was nervous, grasping her pen tightly. When she noticed that James frowned with a serious look,
she was so embarrassed that she wanted to disappear right away.
"Uncle James, you don't have to see my paper. I have bad grades."
She was a typical poor student!
"Which subject do you prefer, history or geography?" James asked calmly.
"History. I think history is very interesting. I can know a lot of powerful people and interesting stories."
Kara replied honestly.
"Why did you choose to study Sciences?"
She had a gift for arts. The result showed that she was more adequate in studying Arts.
Sciences didn't include geography and history, but subjects like physics and chemistry, which were
related to mathematics. Moreover, maths in Science was more difficult than that in Arts.
Kara looked down. When she was in high school, she did want to choose Arts subjects.
However, Sophia said that Kara would have more chance of getting admitted into a University if Kara
learned Science subjects, and Sophia even asked Owen for help to distribute Kara to a Science class.
Kara had won a few prizes in art competitions before, so she was arranged in the best class by Sophia.
The subjects were difficult for her because of her poor comprehensive ability. And she was too
introverted to make friends in that class. Gradually, her performance on study became even worse.
Afterward, Arya, seeing that she was not going so well, came to be her deskmate.
James found a pamphlet next to her test paper, which was about the art exam. He casually flipped
through it.
"Uncle James..." Kara wanted to stop him, but it was already too late.
"You want to take the art exam?" He looked up at her and asked.
"I am not sure." Kara sighed softly. "Dad had talked about my gift in art before. He said I could be an
artist. But now he passed away, I can't leave the Quain Group aside to chase my own dream."
Thinking of her dad, she was depressed.
Her Dad had made many promises to her, but he could not make them happen anymore. Now she had
to fulfill them by herself.
James saw her eyes teary. He pinched her small face and consoled, "Be happy, I will help you to deal
with the Quain Group's affairs. You can just do whatever you like."
Smelling the faint fragrance of peppermint on him and hearing the consoling words, Kara sniffed and
did not dodge his touch.
"Uncle James, how can you help me?"
James liked to rub her shoulder-length hair gently. He smiled faintly, "There are many ways to manage
the Quain Group. Don't worry about it. You can't even manage yourself well. Are you sure you can
handle those foxy people in the Quain Group?"
The Quain Group was a large enterprise. David owned most of its shares, but there were also some
small shareholders.
Kara, though the daughter of David, was too gentle to suppress them. Probably she would even cry in
fright at their harsh words.
"But that was Dad's lifetime efforts."
"Do you believe me?"
James took a step closer and asked near her ear. His low and deep voice was gentle and attractive.
"Of course I do. You are the person who treats me best in the world." She immediately raised her small
hands, as if making an oath.
"Since you believe me, then leave this matter to me. Be good. If you want to take the college entrance
exam, then take it your way."
"Really? Can I?" Kara was not so sure.
College entrance examination?
She wasn't confident about it!
"Trust me. I will help you get everything you want!"
She nodded in confusion.
The next day, after arriving at the classroom, she asked Elisa about the art exam.
When Elisa heard that Kara had the same plan as hers, she excitedly told Kara everything she knew.
"About the art exam, firstly, you need to find an instructor in the University that you want to apply to,
and then learn from the teacher. In this way, the possibility of passing the exam will be greater.
"Kara, I wanna go to the School of Arts in University A. What about you?"
Elisa looked at Kara, who had a small oval face and clear eyes, and flawless skin. She admitted that
she was jealous of Kara.
She had really wanted to get along well with Kara before, but she never had a chance because Kara
was too introverted and was frequently hospitalized for illness. Also, she learned from Rose that Kara
was an easy girl, so she had secretly cursed Kara with malicious words.
Elisa felt guilty when she remembered the foolish things she had done to Kara, so she wanted to make
up for it.
Kara, with her hands under her chin, thought about which University she planned to apply to.
Seeing her confused look, Elisa patted her on the shoulder to encourage her. "Kara, if you have
decided on where to go, just let me know. I have a relative who is the chairman of the Arts Association.
Perhaps he can help you."
"Thank you, Elisa. I'll when I have an idea."
"I'm leaving now."
Suddenly, Elisa stood up and ran back to her seat as if she was frightened.
...
Kara turned around and saw Arya walking over. She curled her lips with confusion. 'Why are they like
mice coming across cats every time they see Arya?'
'They run away at first sight.'
At noon, Kara's phone buzzed. It was Eli. He sent her a message, saying that he would invite her to
dinner and help her with the lesson.
Kara held her phone and remembered James's advice. She asked Arya to be with her and went to find
Eli.
After arriving at the canteen and seeing that Eli had already ordered the food, Arya knew that Kara
invited her to dinner was to avoid having dinner with Eli alone.
"Hi, handsome guy." Arya greeted.
Eli's face was red. He looked at Kara and greeted her with a smile.
"You two take a seat first. I'll order another dish."
Eli invited the two girls to sit down and turned to order more food.
Although it was at the school canteen, not so many people came here.
Eli ordered a private room for dinner, a good place to study and meet others.
"Am I coming at the right time?" Arya raised her eyebrows and smiled mischievously at Kara.
Kara blinked in confusion, not understanding what she meant.
"Silly girl, Eli obviously wants to find an opportunity to date you alone!"
"What, date?"
Kara frowned. She only wanted to be friends with Eli.
Puppy love?
Thinking of James's cold face, she dared not.
"You are so slow on finding out boys' feelings for you. Kara, I'll give you a nickname. How about 'silly
girl'?" Arya laughed.
"Arya, help me out." She hugged Arya's arm and asked coquettishly.
"Actually, Eli is good. Although you are not into him yet, you can give him a chance to be your 'backup This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
guy'." Arya advised.
"Arya, stop joking!"
She couldn't do that to Eli!
Arya was true that she was slow on others' affections for her. She was terrified and uneasy about that
and could not handle that well. How could she dare to play love tricks on others?
Kara let go of Arya's arm. She clenched her small fist and lowered her head in frustration.
"Alright, I'll help you."
Seeing Kara frustrated, Arya became softhearted. She raised her hands with a resigned look.
"You are the best!" Kara hugged her gratefully.
During dinner, Eli tried to find chances to talk to Kara, but Arya always steered the conversation.
Eli didn't get mad, thinking that Kara was shy to speak.
At the halfway of the dinner, Arya gave a hint at Kara with blinks, and Kara quickly got it and got up to
the bathroom.
