Unbreakable Love His Passion for Her Transcends Death

Passion 71

Zachary averted his gaze and responded indifferently. "Yeah, sure."

Malcolm assumed Zachary didn't believe him. "Let's head to the guest hall now. Just you wait. I'll prove it to you!"

"Alright. Let's go."

At that moment, the guest reception hall was still being prepared. As Clifford's daughter-in-law, Shannon was overseeing the preparations.

"It's Mr. Lane Senior's birthday. Keep a close eye on everything," she reminded the butler while trimming a flower arrangement. "Also, if there are any suitable young ladies from prestigious families, let me know."

Years had passed, but Daphne still hadn't conceived Xavier's child. So, she had no choice but to consider other options.

* "Understood, Ma'am." The butler then left.

When he reached the door, he noticed Malcolm and Zachary, "Mr. Malcolm," he called out. Malcolm waved at him, and the butler tactfully left.

Shannon had never been fond of her grandnephew. Whenever she saw him, she just pretended to be cordial in front of others. After all, he wasn't her own grandson.

She looked over impatiently and was about to ask him to go and play elsewhere when she saw Zachary.

Shannon stared at the delicate little boy beside Malcolm in astonishment, struck by how much he looked like a young Xavier. Snapping out of her daze, she hurriedly called for a housekeeper. "Bring Malcolm and the boy beside him to me."

"Yes, Ma'am."

H

Shannon set the flowers that she hadn't yet placed in the vase aside.

Zachary hadn't worn a mask that day. He hadn't expected that the first person he'd meet would be his grandmother-the woman who had once bullied his mother.

The housekeeper called the two boys over. Malcolm introduced Shannon to Zachary. "This is my Uncle Xav's mother, Grandma Shannon."

As the two boys approached, Shannon's eyes never left Zachary: The resemblance was uncanny. was as if he were a carbon copy of Xavier as a child. Zachary was a keen observer. He noticed her gaze and wondered if she had recognized him.

"Hello, Grandma Shannon," Malcolm greeted her obediently.

"Hello." Shannon nodded at him coldly.

It

Zachary followed suit and greeted her politely, "Hello, Mrs. Lane."

His sweet and innocent voice instantly melted Shannon's ice-cold demeanor. She bent down and focused all her attention on Zachary. He not only looked like Xavier but there was also something about him that drew her in.

"What's your n

your name, child? Where do you live? How old are you now?" Her voice was gentle, a stark contrast to her cold demeanor toward Malcolm earlier.

Zachary was perplexed. As far as he knew, his grandmother had been known as a cold and ruthless iron lady in her youth. So, why did she appear so different in person?

I

"My name is Zachary Snyder. I live in Hexim Pass, and I'll be four soon." Not wanting to cause trouble for his mother, Zachary gave Shannon a general idea of his address. Zachary... Shannon gazed at him and asked awkwardly, "Is your father's last name Snyder?"

Fearing that his identity would be revealed, Zachary nodded.

Shannon's face fell, but she persisted. "Then who is your mother?"

His gaze flickered when he realized she had noticed something.
