Chapter 353
Zachary's face darkened. How had Tristan gotten the invitation meant for the male escort he'd hired? It seemed like Tristan had taken advantage of the
situation.
Zachary had no choice but to play along. "You're right, Dad" he echoed.
At that moment, the three of them looked every bit like family as they stood together.
Leonard watched the beautiful scene in front of him, feeling a sting in his eyes. He maintained a calm facade as he greeted Tristan. "Mr. Shaw, I apologize for the poor hospitality."
Tristan's narrowed eyes glanced at Leonard, his gaze icy. He said slowly, "It's not just poor hospitality. You've insulted my woman and son. How do you plan to settle this? You're a lawyer, right? Are you confident you can win your case?"
For the Shaws, crushing Leonard would be like squashing an insignificant ant. Leonard understood this well too. "I'm sorry. Please allow me to apologize to you."
However, Tristan had no intention of accepting his apology. He turned to Kiki, Zachary, and Yvette. "Let's go. There's no need to attend this kind of wedding banquet."
Leonard's handsome brows furrowed tightly. The rest of the guests watched them leave.
The wealthier relatives on both the bride's and groom's sides who knew Tristan became hesitant to stay there any longer when they saw his reaction. Hence, all of them came up with excuses to leave. Olivia tried to stop them. "Why are you leaving? You haven't even eaten."
One of them retorted, "You've offended the Shaw family. Who would dare to eat at your son's wedding now?"
Only then did Olivia realize that she'd offended someone formidable.
On the way out of the hotel, Tristan walked alongside Kiki. In a lowered voice, he said, "And you said Zac isn't my son. Tell me, did you tamper with the paternity test?"
Tristan remembered that Kiki had
visited Zachary when he'd done the paternity test. He couldn't guarantee that everything had gone smoothly. After all, Zachary was smart what if he'd switched the hair samples?
Just a moment ago, Kiki had been feeling incredibly grateful to Tristan for rescuing her. But now, she had a strong urge to knock some sense into him. "I told you-he's not your son."
"Is he really Leonard's son, then?"
Tristan found that hard to believè,
Leonard was more like pretty boy, whereas Zachary had sharp features. When the latter grew up, he would look nothing like Leonard's delicate beauty.
After what happened at the wedding, Kiki didn't want to continue deluding herself or deceiving others. "Of course not."
"Then why are you still being stubborn?" Tristan's lips curled into a smile. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Kiki couldn't answer him.
Yvette, who was following behind the two, was utterly bewildered. She still hadn't processed what was happening. Since when had Tristan become a good guy-the type to help Kikt out of a bind?
She didn't notice the resentful look Zachary gave Tristan. He was still trying to understand why Tristan had shown up instead of the male escort.
They eventually reached the outside, where an extremely long Lincoln limousine was parked, flanked by security cars at the front and back.
Tristan had seen the note Zachary had written and had immediately understood that he was supposed to make a strong statement with his appearance here.
While he liked showing off, he rarely went all out like today. Right now, everything about him screamed, "I am powerful and wealthy. Don't even think about touching what's mine!" Tristan said to Kiki, "Let's get in the car."
Then, he turned to Yvette awkwardly. "Where are you headed? I'll give you a ride." His gaze shifted uneasily as he spoke. He felt too guilty to face her.
When Yvette noticed him address her, she coldly refused his offer. "There's no need. We drove ourselves."
Tristan was momentarily at a loss for words. Before he could say more, Kiki took Zachary's hand and said, "We're going with Yvette. We wouldn't want to trouble you. Goodbye."
