Chapter 333
Terrence was so scared that he nearly fell to his knees as his legs trembled uncontrollably. "Mr. Lane, please don't be angry. How could I ever harm my own sister? I'll immediately withdraw the lawsuit." It wasn't until Xavier's car drove away that Terrence finally breathed a sigh of relief. He no longer dared to boast and knew that the free eight billion was out of his reach. He couldn't believe that Xavier, who used to dislike Yvette the most, was now standing up for her.
When Yara returned and saw her injured son, she was furious. "How could she be so ruthless?"Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
"It wasn't her; it was one of her bodyguards," Terrence explained.
Yara wanted to say more, but Terrence told her that Xavier had intervened in the matter and that they had to drop the lawsuit. Yara fell silent upon hearing this.
"I never thought Xavier still thought of her as a friend."
On the way back, Yvette received a call from Matthew, informing her that Yara and Terrence had withdrawn the lawsuit.
She finally felt at ease.
Meanwhile, Kiki was frantically searching for Zachary. She didn't know that Xavier had taken him. She mumbled, "Zac, where did you go?"
Suddenly, Kiki remembered Zachary mentioning that he wanted to follow Yvvette to see Yara. She immediately drove to the mansion.
However, upon arriving outside the mansion, she did not see Zachary. She showed his photo to the people nearby, but no one knew anything. Kiki had no choice but to search elsewhere, not daring to inform Yvette too soon.
Meanwhile, Mark had took Zachary to Sangine County. They waited in the car for Xavier instead of heading inside first. Worried that Zachary might be hungry after the long car ride, Mark asked him, "Do you want something to eat?" Zachary shook his head arrogantly. "I'm not hungry," he declared even though his stomach growled in protest. Seeing this, Mark ordered his men to buy some food. Soon, a huge pile of food was delivered to the car. Zachary didn't even glance at it; he closed his eyes and leaned back in his seat to rest.
Mark soon opened a box of mini pies. Their aroma filled the air. "Are you sure you don't want to eat?" he asked again.
Zachary smelled the food but remained unmoved. "Hmph, I never eat in the car."
Seeing his haughty demeanor, Mark thought Zachary resembled Xavier even more.
"When will you let me go? Are you going to keep me in the car forever?" Zachary asked.
"Mr. Lane will make the
arrangements when he comes
back," Mark replied. He paused, then
added, "I don't know when he'll be
back. If you don't eat something
now, don't cry when you get hungry
later." .
Zachary scoffed. Did his bastard father's lackey think he was a three-year-old child? He wouldn't cry.
But as time passed, Zachary grew

"Do you really not want to eat?" Mark asked again.
Zachary swallowed hard. "I want to eat outside."
"Fine," Mark agreed, not wanting to starve him. After all, Zachary was Yvette's son, and Xavier seemed to be very fond of Yvette now. Xavier would surely treasure someone who was precious to Yvette.
It was nightfall when Xavier returned. He approached the car and said to Zachary, "Let's go. Time to go home."
Home?
Zachary felt a bit dazed.
Xavier then reached into the car and lifted him out. His large frame made Zachary feel as if he were flying.
"Damn it! Put me down!" Zachary yelled.
"Behave." Xavier smacked his bottom lightly. "From now on, I'm your stepfather."
