Chapter 317
As the three of them walked in the snow, they looked a lot like a family. While Claude held Yvette's hand, her palm was covered in sweat. He only let go of her when they reached a restaurant to have something
to eat.
Noah wanted to let the two of them have some time to themselves, so he asked the waiter to bring him to the restroom.
After he had left, Yvette immediately apologized. "I'm truly sorry. Noah only did that because he never had a father before."
Claude wasn't married yet. Anyone in his shoes would've been upset when they had to pretend to be someone else's father. However, he didn't mind. "Actually, I kinda liked it."
Yvette finally relaxed when she heard.that.
When they were done talking about Noah, Claude couldn't help thinking about yesterday. "Why didn't you tell me you were living with Xavier?"
Right after he said that, he regretted it. After all, he had no right to ask her that.
Meanwhile, Yvette thought nothing of it. She told him how she had used her affair to threaten Xavier into getting a divorce. She also told him about Shannon threatening her. "Who did you say you had an affair with?" Claude was focused on one part of her story.
Yvette blushed brightly and said, "I didn't point out any names, but Xavier thought it was you." She clenched her hands slightly as she said that.
He drank his drink and couldn't help smiling with a glint in his eyes. "That's great. I can make full use of that title today."
Yvette was too embarrassed to keep the topic going, so she stood up. "Why isn't Noah back from the restroom yet? I'm going to look for him."
Noah had been hiding behind the entrance the whole time. When he noticed they were done talking, he pretended to have come back from the restroom. "I'm back, guys."
With a child around, the mood became livelier. After they were done eating, Noah wanted Yvette and Claude to take him to the arcade. There were a lot of couples and parents with children as well.
When they arrived, Noah saw something that was meant for couples. The prize was a huge stuffed panda. "Mom! Dad! I want that!"
Yvette looked at what he was pointing at and saw a game with a prize. She let Claude carry him and said, Sure. Let me ask about it." "Yeah!" Noah nodded excitedly.
She approached the game and asked the staff, "Are the stuffed pandas for sale?"
"I'm sorry, gorgeous. They are for our games and aren't for sale."
Yvette took out a card and passed it to him. "Can you do it for ten thousand dollars?"
The staff immediately grabbed the card. "Let me ask my boss."
Meanwhile, Noah was speechless to find her using money for the panda. There was no way he could let her have it her way.
He looked up at Claude and asked, "Mr. Lander, don't you want to win my mom's heart?"
Claude knew what he meant immediately. As he carried Noah with one hand, he used another hand to make a call.
"I want you to buy the arcade in Sangine County as quickly as possible. Remember to register my phone number for the owner of the arcade."
Shortly after he hung up the call, the staff came out of the office. He was scratching his head while making another call.Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Then, Claude's phone started ringing. He answered it without showing any changes in his expression. "I'm not selling it, even for 100 million dollars. Tell her that she has to win the game to get it.
A few minutes later, Yvette helplessly returned. She looked at Noah and felt bad. "Noah, there are a lot of stuffed pandas like this on the Internet. Shall I buy it for you online?"
Noah immediately started sniffling. "You don't love me anymore, Mom. Other parents would do their best to win a prize for their children. But you... I knew I wasn't actually your son. Only Zac's your son...' She was speechless and wondered why he would say that. After all, he looked a lot like Zachary.
