Chapter 276
Before they went to court, everyone in Tirion had already found out about Xavier and Yvette's divorce. Tristan, Quentin, and the others were betting on who would win the lawsuit.
"Xav's gonna win without saying," said a rich playboy. They were all Xavier's fanboys, and they would do anything to support him.
Quentin smiled and said, "I'm betting on Yvette."
"You're always betting on odds, Quentin." No one was surprised. Then, they looked at Tristan, who was distracted at the side. "Tris, who are you placing your money on?"
"Do you even have to ask? He's definitely rooting for Xav. Mr. Shaw hates Deaf Yvvy the most," someone
said.
Suddenly, Tristan looked toward the person with a cold gaze and said, "Do not call her that from now on."
Since Xavier wasn't around, he didn't want to hide the truth anymore. When he got serious, everyone else stopped talking and didn't dare to make any joke casually.
Quentin took a sip of his beer and lightened the mood. "He's right. After all, she's Xav's wife."
Everyone agreed with what he had said. When they started drinking, Quentin sat next to Tristan and said, What's wrong with you, Tris? Are you still upset about the mistake you made previously?"
He was referring to how Tristan had mistaken Zachary as his own son. Tristan forced out a smile and picked up his beer. "Why would I be upset? I just thought it was weird. Why would Yvette suddenly want a divorce?"
He had been feeling guilty all these years, and he didn't know how he should repay her. That was why he had started performing surgery again. He wanted to learn how to cure her hearing impairment. However, he still hadn't found a suitable way to do it. Now, she was getting a divorce from Xavier. Tristan wondered what would happen to her if she left Xavier.
"Life is unpredictable. Maybe she's finally snapped out of it. After all, it's exhausting to like someone who doesn't feel the same way at all." It sounded like Quentin was implying something else. Tristan stopped thinking about it and continued drinking with him.
When the trial started at Tirion Courthouse, Kiki stood next to Yvette in her professional attire.
When she saw Leonard standing next to Xavier, her face became pale immediately. That was when she realized how cruel Xavier was. Not only was he cruel to Yvette, but he was treating her friends the same way as well.
Kiki had thought that Xavier would send someone from the company's legal team. She had never expected them to hire her ex-boyfriend to go against them. Compared to how anxious she was, Leonard seemed way more calm. He looked at her like she was a stranger, and there was no emotion in his eyes at all. Yvette had heard of him before. He had once been the hunk of Tirion High School. He looked dashing and was comparable to Xavier when they stood together.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
"Kiki." When she turned to look at Kiki, she noticed the latter's eyes had reddened. There was a layer of sweat on Kiki's forehead, and her face looked extremely pale.
Kiki returned to her senses and looked back at Yvette with a forced smile. "Yeah."
Yvette hurriedly grabbed her hand. “It's alright. I'm here."
She knew why Kiki was acting that way. She would've acted the same way if she'd had to go against Xavier in court in the past.
When a woman was deeply in love, she would become bolder and more timid than ever at the same time. They would boldly do anything for their partner and become timid when they were together. Kiki trembled a little and said, "Yeah, I'm fine. We'll definitely win this."
Yvette patted her shoulders.
Soon, the court was in session. Since it was a private lawsuit, the reporters couldn't come in, but there was a huge crowd waiting outside.
