Chapter 252
Instead of going to the airport, Xavier went to Fortian Manor. He had someone take Noah's used toothbrush to the hospital for identification. Meanwhile, Kiki and Zachary had already boarded the plane. They weren't aware that someone was following them.
Looking out at the white expanse outside, Kiki felt relieved. "We can finally live peacefully from now on."
Zachary didn't respond, seemingly lost in thought.
Thinking that he might be missing his friends from kindergarten, Kiki reassured him, saying, "Don't worry. Darren and I will come to visit you."
Zachary snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her. "Okay."
Before Kiki could say more, Zachary picked up a newspaper.
The headline news was still about Daphne, and it seemed the buzz wouldn't die down for at least a week. After all, the public knew Daphne as Xavier's girlfriend.
Zachary glanced at the newspaper casually but quickly lost interest. He covered his face with it for a nap.
Meanwhile, Kiki looked at the child beside her, thinking that he was unusually mature for a child. It made sense why he had never mentioned wanting to find his father or go back home during his stay in Tirion. Now that he was returning abroad, he seemed calm and composed.
Since they were still several hours away from reaching Mayest, the port city where Yvette was, Kiki also dozed off.
Eight hours later, they arrived in Mayest. Due to the time difference, it was nighttime there.
Yvette had been waiting there for some time. Upon seeing the figures of a child and an adult approaching, she hurried over.
"Zac! Kiki!"
She ran up to Zachary and hugged him tightly.
Zachary had a rosy face as he was enveloped in Yvonne's embrace. "Mom!"
"Let's go. Let's head home first."
At home, Viola and the nanny were preparing dinner, with Noah helping on the side. "Grandma, you forgot to add salt again."
Viola slapped her forehead. "Oh, my memory is failing me. I'm useless now."
"When I grow up, I'll cook for you."
"You're such a thoughtful boy, Noah," Viola cooed.
"Madam Viola." The nanny came over. "You're not feeling well. Please go rest."
"Yvvy will blame me again when she comes back." Viola groaned. She took Noah to the living room to rest. While waiting, she watched the local news.
The news anchor was impassioned.
"Following the scandal involving
renowned singer Daphne Reyes, Lane Group's stocks have
continuously plummeted. As of now, there's been no news from Xavier Lane, CEO of the Lane Group."
Viola clenched her fists. "Serves him right!"
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Viola turned off the TV and hurried to greet the three people who entered the room.
Kiki hadn't seen much of Noah
before because he had been hospitalized for a long time. When she finally saw the two little ones with identical faces together her eyes shone in delight.
"God sure is amazing. My angels, let me hug you!"
Although Noah was fond of acting sweet, he didn't like having anyone besides Yvette hold him.
He flashed a mischievous smile. "Kiki, both my brother and I have grown up. Men and women should keep their distance from one another."
Kiki was overjoyed when she heard
Noah affectionately calling her name, If it hadn't been for Noak's condition, she would have rushed
over and hugged him long ago.
"You're such a good boy. Zac, you should learn from your little brother. He's so cute."
Upon seeing Kiki acting infatuated, Zachary was speechless. He turned his head and went to see Viola.
After dinner and some rest, the evening came. Yvette and Kiki slept together.
"Yvvy, are you planning to stay here for good?" Kiki asked.
"For now." Yvette paused, explaining, "Viola is getting older and has various health problems. I don't want her to keep moving around with me."
Plus, Viola didn't understand foreign languages. Apart from the nanny, she had no one to communicate with abroad.
Considering all these years Viola had looked after Yvette, the latter felt deeply indebted to her. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
"But what if Xavier comes looking for you?"
"I don't know."
