Passion 26
When Yvette arrived at the venue below, she immediately noticed the grandest private room on the upper floor that offered the best view of the auction.
The room was fitted with a one-way mirror; the people outside couldn't look in, but the people inside could look out.
She intentionally selected a seat that could be seen clearly from the private room. Then, she looked up at the private room, making the action seem unintentional.
It was just a simpli ance. There wasn't a ripple of emotion in her eyes.
In the private room, Mark gaped in shock. "That's Ms. Snyder!"
Xavier resisted the urge to run downstairs. "Abandon the auction," he ordered Mark.
"Yes."
The secretary downstairs received the instruction and gave up on the auction.
The audience had thought that they would get to see a money -throwing competition, but to their surprise, Xavier had given up. They were all astounded.
They didn't know who the mystery woman was or why she
had dared to snatch something from Xavier. More
importantly, Xavier had allowed her to do it.
After the auction, as per the rules, the bidders had to make their payment and then collect their item.
When Yvette walked backstage, she found the room rather empty. She instantly spotted Xavier sitting alone on the couch.
Xavier's tall and lean figure was accentuated by his suit, making him look regal. His handsome face wore a cold expression, and his dark eyes immediately fixed on her the moment she stepped through the door.
"Yvette!" he said quietly, staring at her deeply.
He was waiting for I. to explain why she had faked her death and disappeared for four years. He wanted to hear where she had gone and what she had been up to this whole time.
After four years, she had changed drastically.
Yvette, who hadn't liked getting dolled up, had put on
glamorous makeup. Yvette, who had only worn dark clothes, was now wearing an eye-catching gown...
It was the first time Xavier realized that Yvette had this side
to her.
As he watched Yvette approach him, he swallowed.
Yvette stopped two feet in front of him and said, "Hello, sir."
Xavier was stunned Before he could react, Yvette looked around and asked, "Are you the auctioneer? I'm here to make payment and collect my item."
In an instant, Xavier's face grew stormy. He rose to full
height, and his tall figure ended up blocking most of the light from Yvette's face. Staring down at her, he said, "Tell me, who am I?"NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
His voice was deep and slightly hoarse.
"Who are you? Do I know you?" Yvette kept her cool.
Xavier's throat tightened. He radiated a cold chill as he replied, "You don't know me? Then, I'll make you learn who I am!"
Yvette's eyes widened. Before she could react, Xavier crushed her lips with a rough kiss. a
She felt her breathing stop and began to struggle frantically. However, Xavier held her tightly in his embrace. He pressed his large palm to the skin of her back, and his wanton actions grew even bolder. She had initially thought that she would be able to pretend that nothing had happened, but she failed. Tears sprang into her eyes. Unable to stand it any longer, she mercilessly slapped Xavier across the face. "Please have some self-respect! Four years ago, I fell ill and lost my memories."
Xavier froze. He stopped his actions and stared at her in disbelief.
Yvette took the opportunity to escape from his arms. With a wary expression, she took a step back.
Xavier noticed that. It left his emotions in turmoil. "You said you lost your memories? Then, how did you recognize that necklace?"!

He then took the emerald necklace out of a nearby drawer and threw it in front of Yvette. To him, there was nothing he wanted that he couldn't get.
Yvette said calmly, "My father left this for me. Of course I remember."
So, she remembered what James had left her, but not who he was? Xavier nearly laughed out loud in fury.
