Chapter 347
Chapter 347
Soon after the call, Matt shot over an address.
Emmett immediately grabbed his keys up and went out of the office.
He noticed the address was a good stretch away from the city. If he needed to stash Clara somewhere, this place seemed bloody perfect.
A feeling hit Emmett out of nowhere, and it made him realize he was getting closer to Clara.
He pushed the pedal to the metal, almost wishing his car could sprout wings and fly.
But just as he was about to exit the highway, there was a traffic jam! Right on the path to the suburban villa!
Emmett hopped out of his car to evaluate the situation. Turns out there was a car crash up front, the two parties squabbling endlessly, causing the traffic jam.
“I need ten grand in compensation, not a penny less! Look at my car; it’s practically totaled!”
“Ten grand? Are you trying to rip me off? Don’t think I won’t call the cops! How’s your junk heap worth ten grand? I wouldn’t take your car even if you paid me five grand!”
The two drivers were arguing up a storm in front of the toll booth, completely oblivious to the traffic jam they caused.
Emmett frowned, cut through the crowd, scribbled down ten grand on a check, and handed it over, “Here’s your compensation. Now move your cars! Right now!”
The two drivers were gobsmacked, taking a few seconds to gather their wits.
One of them quickly pocketed the check and said, “I’m leaving right now!”
Soon, both cars were towed, and traffic started flowing again.
Emmett hopped back in his car, continuing his journey.
But what he didn’t notice was that someone had recognized his car and dialed a number…
He was only a kilometer away from the villa according to the map.
Emmett gripped the steering wheel, with a whirlwind of emotions. He felt excited but also dreaded disappointment.
After all, there was no concrete evidence that Elio was hiding Clara here.
Finally, the villa appeared. Emmett hopped out and pushed open the door.
To his surprise, the villa was unlocked. He entered the living room, looking around at the desolate place.
But then, he noticed the slippers haphazardly tossed at the door as if someone left in a hurry.
Emmett flipped on the lights, and what he saw next left him stunned.
It was Clara’s clothes!
Those clothes were on the couch! Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
He remembered that Clara wore those to work that day!
Emmett briskly walked over, picked up the clothes, and held them up to his nose.
No doubt about it! But he also guessed that Elio must have moved Clara!
He must have known he was coming.
His phone rang again; Emmett picked up. It was Dylan.
“Mr. Melendez, have you arrived?”
“Yeah, you should send someone over to search this villa ASAP. Look for any clues. From what I’ve seen, Clara must have been unlawfully detained here. And I bet they left this place in a hurry!”
‘Got it, Mr. Melendez, I’ll send someone right away.”
After hanging up, Emmett clutched the clothes tightly.
Clara, where are you?
In a secret room in the suburbs.
Leah Calloway was tracking Elio’s movements using her computer. Through data analysis, she also found the location of a villa.
