Get in.” Emmett walked over, his face still as expressionless as before, but he took Aiden’s backpack and slung it over his wrist.

This gesture was just like a typical dad picking his kid up from school.

“Dad, why are you here to pick me up today? Didn’t Ms. Calloway have to go abroad for something? Aren’t I supposed to go back to Grandma’s?”

He originally left the Melendez family to get closer to Clara. Now that Clara was abroad, he thought he would return to them

“So, you want to go back? Emmett asked.

Emmett frowned slightly, “You’re this old and still need someone to put you to sleep? Are you scared?”
