Chapter 100
Chapter 100
Brett's eyes were dark as he touched Izabella's cheek, he sneered. "When you're better, we'll have another baby."
Izabella briefly shuddered before agreeing, "Sure."
Brett hesitated, surprised that Izabella got the hint so easily.
But Izabella's eyes grew darker, her gaze cold as a snake. She sneered, "I could get rid of one baby, I will get rid of the second one as well!"
"How dare you!" He raised his hand, but Izabella stared back defiantly.
"Go ahead, hit me, you better hit on my stomach!"
"Izabella, do you really think there's nothing I can do to you?" Brett caressed her chin.
She suddenly felt cold, the coldness made her suffocating. Her eyes darted to Kaley, who was standing by the door.
"What about Kaley? You don't care about my feelings, but what about hers?" She didn't believe that Kaley, with her narrow mind, could tolerate her carrying Brett's child.
"You think Kaley is petty like you? Besides, the child you give birth to will naturally be taken care of by Kaley. She has been infertile since the car accident four years ago," Brett said to her, as if everything should be that way.
Seeing that the conversation had shifted to her, Kaley smiled faintly. "I don't mind. Izabella, when you have a child in the future, I'll treat him as my own and never treat him unfairly. I really like kids, the more you give birth to, the better."
Brett could feel how tense Izabella's body was, but he pretended not to notice her pale face, agreeing with Kaley. "that's right."
Izabella's heart was numb with pain. She looked desolate, listening to their conversation with a sinking heart.
Brett and Kaley showed no regard for Izabella's feelings, talking about taking away her children as if she were a mere animal. Brett had stripped her of her humanity, leaving her without dignity.
Suddenly, a piercing ringing filled her ears. Izabella quickly covered them, grimacing in pain as she collapsed onto the bed, her body shivering terribly beneath the blanket. Her stomach twisted painfully, waves of nausea washing over her.
No one expected the sudden turn of events. Brett finally looked worried as he pushed Izabella's shoulder, then realized that her cold sweat had soaked her clothes. "What's wrong with you?"
Pretending to care, Kaley said, "Brett, go get a doctor to check on Izabella. She seems to be in a lot of pain."
Without hesitation, Brett left to find a doctor. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Once Brett was gone, only Kaley and Izabella remained in the room. Kaley's worried facade disappeared instantly, her eyes gloating as she stared at Izabella. "You okay, Izabella?"
"Get out!"
Kaley sat in the chair, putting on a false sympathetic look. "I care so much about you, and you don't even thank me. Instead, you curse at me. Izabella, you're really ungrateful."
Coming from Kaley, this statement was the biggest joke ever. If she understood what gratitude was, she wouldn't have repeatedly framed Izabella and tried to turn Brett against her.
Izabella took two deep breaths to suppress her anger, but her chest heaved. Her eyes bloodshot, she glared at Kaley. "Aren't you afraid of karma, Kaley?"
"Karma?" Kaley laughed involuntarily. "I didn't push you, so why should I face karma? And didn't I save you when you were bleeding and nearly dead? Just look at our situations— who's more likely to be facing karma?"
Kaley's words hit Izabella's pain point. She bit down on her lip, realizing the truth. The one facing karma was her.
"Don't worry, Izabella. I will take good care of your child. I won't let him be disabled, like having a broken arm or a limp leg. I'll let him live well, just like you, to live a life worse than death."
When she said "worse than death," she emphasized the words. at that, Izabella's body went rigid. If she could kill someone through her gaze, she would have torn Kaley to pieces.
Her eyes narrowed, and she disregarded the needle in her hand and lunge at Kaley, crazed by hate.
However, she had underestimated her own weak body. She had just undergone surgery and was frail. Instead of attacking Kaley, she collapsed at her feet.
With a flash of her eyes, Kaley retreated a step. When Izabella's emaciated body toppled toward her, she fell, too. Then she screamed, "Brett, help! Izabella's trying to kill me!"
At this moment, a figure burst in, yelling, "Kaley!"
Relieved, Kaley contorted herself on the floor, crawling towards Brett. "Brett, I'm hurting. Don't leave me. Izabella's gone mad, she wants to kill me!"
Even a healthy person would be in pain after falling, let alone a wounded Izabella. However, she seemed numb to it, lying on the floor, gritting her teeth and staring at him hatefully.
Her hate-filled eyes were colder than before.
Brett helped Kaley up, about to lash out, when the doctors and nurses hurried in.
Upon seeing Izabella on the floor, they rushed over to help her up. As they guided her back, her limp body could only be supported by the nurses.
