True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 247

Chapter 247

Heinz nodded in agreement.

Grace nodded as well. "Then I'll have to trouble you, officer."

Alice had already opened the door and left.

Jensen didn't have enough time to say anything in return, so he could only nod slightly in reply and

guickly followed after her.

She was still very upset and annoyed.

Jensen hurried over as she continued walking at a fast pace. "Alice, wait." He called.

"Alice? Who allowed you to call me Alice?" she shouted grumpily.

"Oh, I'm sorry.” Jensen immediately said, "What's should I call you then? Miss Alice Smith, or maybe

Miss Smith?"

Alice frowned and stopped. She turned to look at Jensen and said coldly, "What on earth do you want?"

Jensen could see that Alice's attitude was very unfriendly. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

He knew that she was venting all her anger on him, but he still smiled and said, "I'm just following your

sister's orders to send you home."

Alice frowned. "Why are you so obedient towards my sister's orders?" "Why must there be any reason?

Logically speaking,

it's obvious that I should send you back."

"Logically speaking?" Alice became angrier when she heard that. She asked sharply, "What kind of

logic is that?"

Jensen saw that she had a sharp look in her eyes, and they were sparkling from her tears before.

He knew that she was being vigilant, so he smiled honestly and said, "Your sister and I are friends.

Wouldn't it be convenient for you if I send you back?"

Alice pressed the elevator button. "There's no need.

I can walk by myself."

"But it's still very troublesome for you to go by yourself. It would be a waste of money and time,

wouldn't it?" He tried to persuade her.

"Can you speak properly?" Hearing this, Alice became impatient.

Jensen continued to smile and said, "It's better that I send you home."

"How so?" She asked.

"You can save money as you won't need to pay for a taxi. Moreover, I'll be sending you home in my

police uniform, it would be much safer, don't you agree?"

Alice said nothing in reply.

"What if you encounter a similar situation as last time? I know you have extraordinary skills, but if you

were to send another person to hospital again, wouldn't it be even more troublesome?" Jensen

continued his sentence although he realized that she was frowning, "Your sister will also worry about

you, won't she?”

Alice couldn't refute that.

He continued. "You see, even your sister trusts me. Why don't you just accept my offer? You can save

your sister some worries when she's sick."

Alice frowned and looked at Jensen's grinning face. All she felt was discomfort looking at that man in

police uniform.

She lowered her eyes.

"Don't be so distrustful..." He continued to persuade her.

"You're so annoying." She looked at him out of the corner of her eyes. "If you're willing to send me

back, then send me back."

"Okay." Jensen immediately answered, "Of course I'm willing to."

Alice kept guiet the whole time she was in his car.

He decided to try his luck and asked, "Are you free tonight?"

"I don't have time," she answered curtly.

"You still have to eat, don't you?"

"Why do you care?"

"I want to have dinner with you."

"No, thank you."

Jensen didn't know what to say to that.

There was no expression on Alice's face. She swept her gaze across his face and said, "Don't talk to

me. I'm upset."

Jensen smirked as he looked at her. This girl was too protective of her sister.

"You can't vent your anger on me. It was Heinz who was responsible for your sister's injury. I'm

innocent in that regard, so it'd be unfair to vent on me, don't you think?"

Alice turned to glare at him coldly as his eyes were slowly losing its warmth. She snapped, "You are his

friend, so you are not innocent."

Jensen was dumbfounded when he heard this. He said awkwardly, "It's true. I am Heinz's friend, but

I'm also your sister's friend."

Alice leaned back. If she was being honest with herself, she knew that it wasn't right to vent her anger

on him.

However, she felt annoyed that he was taking the initiative to approach her.

"Stop trying to get close to me. I hate men," she said bluntly.

Jensen was left speechless. He just stared at the road in front of him as he knew it was all because of

what happened six years ago.

He pursed his lips and did not speak for a long period of time.

When they arrived at Emerald Apartment, she suddenly said, "Okay, let me down here!"

Jensen stopped and got off with Alice.

He stood there and looked at Alice, his eyes misty. "Alice, can you tell me why you hate men?"

Alice's face froze and turned pale in an instant. She stared at Jensen coldly.

Jensen stared back, eyes unblinking.

It seemed like she had noticed a hint of pain in his eyes.

She didn't know whether it was just an illusion or not.

"Because men are useless!"

She said it so stubbornly that her voice revealed a hint of loneliness and pain.

Jensen felt as if thousands of arrows had pierced through his heart.

He then realized the trauma he had inflicted on her that night had caused her to reject men for the past

six years.

This kind of hurt was indeed unprecedented.

He froze as he didn't know what to say.

"So are you. Don't think that I can't see what your intentions are. Either way, I'm not interested." She

warned.

After Alice finished her words, she turned on her heel and left without hesitation.

Jensen stood there and couldn't move for a long time.

Alice did not enter the residential area, but walked along the road beside it. She was headed to pick up

the child.

Jensen didn't know where she was going. He got in the car and was about to follow her, only to find

that she had disappeared.

He sat in the car, lit up a cigarette, and started smoking.

After a while, the phone rang.

He picked it up and saw that it was from Grace.

"Grace Smith?" He answered.

"Officer Charm, is my sister home?"

"I sent her to the gate of the Emerald apartment, but she went somewhere else. I don't know where she

went."

"Oh, okay," Grace said. "If she said anything unpleasant to you, I apologize on her behalf."

"No," Jensen immediately said, "It's my fault. Now I finally understand what it feels like to be hurt. I

have only myself to blame."

Grace was dazed. She said after a pause "It takes time to heal. Sometimes, the wound might fester. So

it might take a lot of time for a wound to be fully healed."

"I know. Thank you,Grace," Jensen sobbed slightly. "And, I'm sorry."

"It's okay," Grace said softly, "That's all for now."

She hung up.

Heinz was staring at her with a serious expression. "Why did you call him?"

Grace looked at him and asked, "To check if my sister has returned?"

"What did you say just now? What do you mean?" Heinz asked in a strange tone.

"Nothing." Grace shook her head. "You'll know in the future."
