Chapter 2135
Chapter 2135
"Don't go." Sylvia grabbed her hand and said seriously, "This is between Mr. Trevino and I. Please don't get involved, okay? I beg you."
Claudia was stunned, she did not expect Sylvia to actually beg her.
She used to be the pampered little girl from the Jones family, but she was actually begging her so humbly then.
Her heart ached, and she nodded.
"Then, is there anything I can help you with?"
"You don't have to ask about anything, and you don't have to say anything. That already is the biggest help to me." Sylvia's tone was very calm. Even though she was sad, but the sadder she was, the calmer she was. "There are some things which I have to do myself."
"Can you really do it yourself?" Claudia was greatly worried.
Besides, things were shaping up for her earlier that day. How could the situation have changed so suddenly?
She really did not understand what was going on
with her cousin.
Sylvia nodded. "I know very well what I can do it, it is just that I should not do it now."
"Not now?" Claudia asked in surprise. "What do you mean by that?"
"At earliest, I will have to wait for two years." Sylvia was determined.
She roughly understood the gist of it then. Basically, Kendrix was conflicted. He was conflicted because of her age.
She was still an underage girl. It made Kendrix feel too immoral to be with her.
She pondered upon it carefully to think of what went wrong. As she thought about it then, she believed it might be Kendrix who was in a dilemma.Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
He probably liked her too initially. However, he felt that it was too immoral for him to like her. That, coupled by the fact that the observation Lowell made and the harsh words from Sebastian, must've made him suddenly feel agitated.
Moreover, when she and Claudia went upstairs to apply the ointment, she did not know what Lowell talked to Kendrix about downstairs.
Even though they weren't saying anything when they arrived downstairs, the atmosphere was still as cold as ever.
Lowell must have said something to him, otherwise, Kendrix would not have said those things later on.
However, it did not matter anymore.
She understood that she needed to first solve her own problems regarding her studies then.
She needed to wait.
Even if her heart was stirring, she still had to wait.
She could only continue pursuing him after she was over the age of consent. Would his heart change in that one and a half years? She wasn't sure.
Sylvia smiled bitterly, then she looked at Claudia again. "For real, don't ask Mr. Trevino about it anymore. I am sure that he is under a lot of pressure. I can roughly understand why he is doing this. He wants me to study properly."
"He has already treated you like this, yet you are still defending him. Do you take yourself as a saint?" Claudia taunted her.
"There is no other way. The one who falls in love first is always the one who loses," Sylvia said, "I want to be proud too, but what if I can't?"
"Sylvia." Claudia stretched out her hands and hugged her. "How about this, I will keep an eye on Kendrix for you, and you help me pay close attention to Sebastian too, okay?"
"Okay." Sylvia nodded and hugged her back.
"Then, that will be it." Claudia hugged her. "I should go, you don't have to send me off."
"Okay."
After that, Claudia left rather quickly.
By the time Sylvia got home, she locked herself in her room and started to read. It seemed like the outside world had nothing to do with her.
From that day onwards, Sylvia would settle down completely and study seriously.
She did not like to joke around anymore, and she did not continue with her usual tricks and pranks. She did not even eavesdrop on anyone else anymore, not even thinking about it.
Every time after she finished her meal, she headed back to her room to study.
A week passed just like that, and the Spring Festival would soon arrive.
After Claudia left the Jones family's house the other day, she did not go home immediately. Instead, she checked in to a hotel.
She stayed in the hotel for a week before she decided to visit Kendrix.
She knew that he would not leave Northern City.
For the past few days, he had been locking himself in the school dormitory, he did not even leave his room.
Claudia finally left the hotel and walked to Kendrix's apartment.
She knocked on the door and not long after, the door opened.
The two cousins each stood on one end of the door, they looked at each other, but they did not speak. The two of them couldn't help frowning.
Upon seeing Kendrix's reaction while he saw her, Claudia raised her eyebrows and said, "Are you not going to let me in?"
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you go home?" Kendrix asked in a very cold tone.
"I came to see if you are still alive or not," Claudia spoke in an equally harsh tone, "For a few days, you have not even left your room. I thought you're rotting in here."
Kendrix looked at her with his sharp eyes.
Claudia pursed her lips and said, "Don't stare at me like that. If I want to know if you have been out of the room or not, there are many ways I can use to find out about it."
thone
Kendrix stared at her, he said unhappily, "You should go home."
"I can't," said Claudia. "I have not thought about going back so soon this time."
"It's Spring Festival soon." Kendrix reminded her.
"So what?" Claudia asked back,
"Your uncle and aunt won't be home anyway. Since when have we all been together during the Spring Festival? Aren't we always busy during that time? The closer it is to the Spring Festival, the busier we will be"
"That is not a reason for you to not go home, Kendrix said in a low voice, The closer it is to the Spring Festival, the more reasons you have to go back and take care of them."
"They are not there. Who am I supposed to take care of?" Claudia asked.
Kendrix frowned.
"Am I going home to visit the garden?" Claudia asked.
"Whatever." Kendrix stopped talking and was ready to close the door.
Claudia stretched out her leg and blocked the door from being closed by Kendrix.
"Don't close the door, I am still here."
"You are not welcomed inside."
"I know." Claudia smiled. "I know that I am not welcomed long ago, so what?"
She was determined to enter his room that day.
Kendrix had not choice but to let her in. "If there is anything you want to say, just say it."
"Can I not enter your place if I don't have anything to say?" Claudia thought about it and immediately understood what Kendrix wanted.
In truth, he was giving her hints. He wanted to know more about how Sylvia was doing from her.
However, she just would not speak about it at all.
She had no intentions of telling him to begin with.
The only reason she was there was to see what was on Kendrix's mind.
She could roughly tell then.
He clearly had feelings for Sylvia, yet he did not admit to it no matter what. He couldn't bear feeling humbled.
Claudia felt even more determined not to talk about Sylvia then.
Kendrix turned around and realized that after Claudia went in, she just sat down on the sofa. She did not say anything at all, only staring at him with
her rather sharp eyes.
From the looks of it, it seemed like she had no intentions of telling him anything.
"If you have nothing else to say, then leave." Kendrix was ready to make Claudia leave.
"Are you getting impatient?" Claudia smiled faintly. "So what if you are? I just won't tell you."
