True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2132

Chapter 2132

That sentence instantly caused the whole dining room to fall into a state of great awkwardness and silence.

Lowell was also stunned and awkward. A hint of redness flashed across his handsome face.

He looked towards Kendrix, but he was not angry, not even after being mocked. Instead, there was only self-mockery in his eyes.

Perhaps that was what it was.

Perhaps, he really was too meddlesome.

However, they were all his closest relatives. How could he not be bothered about them?

His brother and sister were the closest ones to him, and they were the ones who raised him. So, it was only natural that he placed the most obligation into caring for their children.

However, in the eyes of outsiders, perhaps he really was just a nosy person.

Instead of correcting Kendrix's statement, he just smiled, he did not take it seriously.

Sylvia and Claudia could tell that Kendrix was satirizing Lowell.

Sylvia was worried that Lowell would get angry, so she looked towards him.

When she found out that Lowell was not angry, she was somewhat surprised.

She looked towards Kendrix's direction once more. She did not quite understand. Why would Mr. Trevino say that?

Those were truly words that hurt a lot, and they were harsh.

She was silent for a while, she did not know what to say at all.

Luckily, Claudia was quick to react. She came back from her senses and tried to loosen up the awkward atmosphere.

She smiled and chimed in, "Kendrix, your words are a little unpleasant."

Kendrix just glanced at Claudia.

Claudia chuckled and said, "What you said was a little out of place. A lot of times, as relatives, they are just caring for the ones they love. That is why they are sometimes nosy."

Kendrix did not answer, he did not show any expressions on his face either.

He looked towards Lowell faintly.

Lowell lowered his gaze, it seemed like he was a little surprised too.

He did not expect Claudia to be right about that. He was just concerned about Sylvia, he was not being nosy.

He was only concerned about the ones he loved the most.

He lowered his gaze still, and his eyes were calm.

"Mr. Jones, this dish is delicious. Have a taste." When Claudia saw how silent Lowell was, she pointed at a dish and urged him to eat more.

Lowell raised his head and smiled at Claudia. "Miss Loris, please eat more if you like it."

"I have never stopped eating, but why does it look like you are not eating much? Hurry up and eat." Claudia smiled kindly.

Lowell only nodded, he did not say anything.

Sylvia could not help but to look towards Kendrix.

He was looking at her too.

The two of them were looking at each other. His gaze was deep, and she could not tell what was on his mind.

Sylvia had thought about all the reactions Kendrix would have, but she did not expect him to assault her own uncle right in front of her and Claudia.

It seemed like he was doing that on purpose.

Was it because Lowell said something to him? Did he so happen to have annoyed Kendrix?

He actually liked her too, and he hoped that Lowell would not criticize him in that way.

Could she understand it that way?

There were too many doubts in Sylvia's mind, but she could not ask about them at the dining table at all.

Fortunately, after Kendrix finished saying that, he did not get any response from Lowell, and he reverted back to his calm self.

Lowell did not say anything after that, nor did he have any interaction with Kendrix. It was as if Kendrix did not exist to him at all during the meal. Sebastian naturally understood the meaning behind Kendrix's words, but he never said anything either.

However, he never stopped observing Kendrix.

He felt that what Claudia said was right. He was not a nosy person, he was just caring for the ones he loved.

Therefore, when he saw an outsider attacking his uncle, Sebastian would not just sit idly and do nothing about it.

"Mr. Trevino," Sebastian said calmly, "I did not expect you to meet my sister and come to our house for a meal today. You would never come to our house for a meal."Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

His words were undoubtedly aggressive as well. He was not polite at all, and it seemed like he was even a little angry.

Kendrix naturally could tell that Sebastian was defending Lowell.

He replied faintly, "Yes, I never thought that I would ever come over to your house for a meal either."

Sylvia's expression stiffened.

Sebastian raised his eyebrows, and he was truly arrogant.

Ever since the night before, Sebastian no longer wanted to show any respect towards Kendrix.

In the past, he could still be very

respectful towards Kendrix.

However, after seeing how much of

a coward he was then, and how he was always running away from different situations, he lost all

respect for him.

"How weird. Since you said that, why did you come over to our house for a meal today?" Sebastian spoke in a cold way.

Claudia's expression stiffened. She did not expect Sebastian to be so direct.

It seemed like a fight was about to go off.

She was about to say something, but Kendrix spoke, "I wanted to come, and so I did."

Upon hearing that, Sebastian's previous temperament vanished. He looked at Kendrix blankly. He never expected him to say that.

Sylvia could not help raising her head to look at Kendrix.

Claudia was dumbfounded too.

Lowell was also stunned.

From Kendrix's tone, it sounded like he was pissed off.

However, not much emotions could be seen on his face. He was so cold that no one could tell what he was feeling.

Lowell could sense that the atmosphere getting a little awkward too. He could tell that Sebastian was trying to stand up for him.

He smiled and went on, "Sebastian, we bumped into Mr. Trevino when we went out today, so we invited him over for a meal."

"Uncle Lowell, you should be

flattered that you managed to invited Mr. Trevino over." Sebastian could not help but to speak in a sarcastic way, "He is not someone who would easily grace people with his presence."

Kendrix narrowed his eyes and glanced at Sebastian.

Sebastian met his gaze and smiled faintly. "Mr. Trevino, didn't you say you would be leaving today? Why did you suddenly decide to stay? Could it be that you are reluctant to leave someone around here?"

"No." To his surprise, Kendrix actually explained, "I changed my schedule because there was something my unit had to attend to."

"Oh." Sebastian responded and gave Sylvia a meaningful look. "I thought that you stayed back because you missed someone. It seems like I have thought too much."

Sylvia was stunned at once.

Her little face also turned pale at once.

She did not expect Kendrix to be so straightforward with his words.

Even though she knew that Kendrix would never have stayed back for her, but a sense of melancholy still rose in her heart when she heard that.

She felt a tinge of sadness well up inside her.

She lowered her head and started to eat.

The food she ate tasted bitter and not delicious at all, it was difficult to swallow.

"I am not a man who would delay my work because of personal affairs," Kendrix said in a low voice.

"Impudent," Sebastian spoke, "Mr. Trevino, you just want to make a name for yourself, isn't that right?"

Kendrix only gave Sebastian a look, he did not say anything else.

"Let's eat," Lowell spoke once more.

Sebastian glanced at Lowell, he gave him a meaningful look, as if he was blaming him for being bullied so easily.

Lowell might be able to bear it, but he couldn't.
