Chapter 1479
Chapter 1479
Molly's heart melted. She said, "Don't worry. Your dad and I will be back soon."
After the video call with their three little ones, Molly couldn't shake off the lingering sadness.
Sean quickly pulled her into a warm embrace, gently comforting her. "It's not your fault. Don't be so hard on yourself."
"I just miss them so much," Molly sniffled.
She had never missed her kids so much.
Her tearful voice tugged at Sean's heartstrings, and he held her even tighter. "I know. I'll wrap things up here as quickly as I can, and we'll head back."
Nestled in his arms, Molly nodded. "Okay."
After a moment, she pulled away from his embrace.
Furrowing her brow, she mumbled, "Ever since I've been with you, I feel like I've turned into such a crybaby."
Sean tenderly stroked her head, reassuring her. "When you're with me, cry when you need to cry and laugh when you want to laugh. There's no need to hold back. I'm here to spoil you."
A smile bloomed on Molly's face, her heart swelling with warmth.
But she knew she couldn't afford to be overly sentimental right now. There was work to do.
Determined to focus on finding an antidote for the venomous insect, she contacted Mr. Ballard to inform him that she was safe.
"It seems that Sean is quite efficient. Thankfully, you're fine."
The old man's joyful voice rang through the phone.
Molly smiled. "I'm sorry for making you worry."
"What are you talking about?" the old master replied, feigning helplessness. "I'm your teacher, after all. It's only natural for me to worry about you, isn't it?"
Molly's heart warmed before she dove into the main topic." Could you send me the information on the venomous insect that you've gathered recently?"
Mr. Ballard found her workaholic demeanor amusing.
He agreed readily. "Sure! I'll send it to you shortly."
"Thank you."
After ending the call, Molly promptly received the files from Mr. Ballard. Her smile vanished, replaced by a focused expression as she studied the data intently.
By the time she tore herself away from the computer, it was nearly noon.
She decided to cook a meal for Lesley and introduce her to Sean.
"Mrs. Anderson."
Alkaid greeted her as she descended the stairs.
"Please invite Lesley over," Molly instructed.
"Sure."
Alkaid replied before departing to fetch the woman.
Molly headed to the kitchen to prepare lunch.
At noon, Lesley arrived as expected.
Upon seeing Sean, Lesley widened her eyes in surprise and shot a puzzled look at Molly. "Who is this?"
Molly smiled. "He's Vaughn and also my husband, Sean."
"Vaughn? Your husband?"
Lesley's astonishment grew as she casually appraised Sean.
"They look so different. What's going on?"
Molly laughed and quickly explained the situation.
Understanding dawned on Lesley, and she glanced at Molly with a hint of teasing. "So, you flirted with him that day because you recognized him, right?"
"Yes."
Molly admitted it. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Lesley's laughter grew louder. "Your little love story is quite the drama."
She then extended her hand to Sean. "Let's get reacquainted. Hello, I'm Lesley."
Sean shook hands with him and introduced himself. "Sean."
Lesley withdrew her hand and raised an eyebrow. "No wonder you were so protective of Molly. Turns out you followed her here. That's touching."
The corners of Sean's mouth quirked up in a subtle smile." You give me too much credit."
