Chapter 44
Chapter 44
"It's not what you think.”
"Yeah, you lashed out at me last night, treating me like a piece of shit and here you are. wanting a favor. I think I know what you mean."
"The apology is sincere. I didn't keep the truth from you on purpose. You just didn't seem to care enough, that's why you were kept in the dark." "Good point and likewise, I don't want to get involved in anything that has to do with you and Oliver."Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
"So you won't help me?”
"No." She replied immediately.
“Even though it's a matter of life and death?”
"Who's dying?”
"Me."
Beatrice rolled her eyes
“Come on, mom. Even though you hate me, don't you prefer to have me by your side and continue our endless arguments rather than losing me to the cold hands of death?”
"Who is killing you?"
“Oliver.”
"He's your baby daddy.”
“Just talk to him for me, mom"
"I'm not getting myself involved."
"You don't have to get yourself involved. Just talk to him for me to leave after the wedding." "And how do you expect me to achieve that?"
"You caused this by telling him about us so in some way, you have a duty to take care of this mess.” Kathie knew she was probably sounding petty but she didn't mind as far as it helped her in getting rid of Oliver.
"You're just a coward."
"No, I'm not. I told him all about it. If he had listened to me I wouldn't be seeking your help.”
"If Ollie decides he wants to be in his kids' life. Who am I to talk him out of it?"
"He listens to you."
"True but do you take him for a fool? He listens to me but he still knows what he wants."
"This is your house. Please tell him to leave."
"And how do you expect me to do that to him? He is my guest. He came all the way from Australia.”
"Kick him out or tell him his time is up. He's meant to be here for only the wedding right? Then he should be out of here by this evening "Stop being so insensitive. If you've got issues with your baby Daddy, settle it with him and don't get me involved."
"So you're not going to help me?"
"No."
"Oh stop giving me that look." She said when she saw her daughter glaring at her.
"He has missed seven good years of his Children’s life. What type of human will I be by throwing him out?"
“Between you and Ollie, I don't know who's more strong headed. Even if he doesn't stay in this house, just know he's not one to give up easily.”
"You're making excuses. I know you must be happy about him being the father.”
"
‘m not going to get involved with your issues with him. And about him being the fatter , I really don't know how to feel -Me being happy or sad> about it doesn't matter. But my h heart goes out to Oliver. No doubt he couk?be a beast but I hope he Bilarels theStrength and courage t¢ todo the right thing and make thecright decision. You definitely gave him the shock of his entire existence.”
Katherine frowned. "You are not one to talk in parables. Is there anything I need to know?"
Beatrice shrugged. "Do I need to remind you of how possessive he could be?"
Katherine frowned even more, looking deeper into her mother's eyes as if she would see the truth that way.
"If I were you, I would channel my energy into praying and hoping Oliver takes things peacefully with me instead of attacking your mother.” "He's dreaming if he thinks I would let him have the upper hand over my children.”
"Then be on your best behavior.”
Katherine was about to say something again when they were interrupted by the stylist and Mua who came back to the room.
“Let's make your face even more beautiful." The makeup artist said, ushering Kathie to the chair while the other lady helped Beatrice get into her dress.
In no time, the bride and her maid were all dressed up and ready to go to the registry.
"What?" Beatrice responded to her daughter's stare as she paused before entering the beautifully decorated limo. The chauffeur who opened the door for her was still standing there.
“Your guest.” Katherine found herself saying. "What about him?"
"You excluded him from coming to the registry?" Kathie asked. Not that she cared about him but not seeing him since morning or hearing about him low-key bothered her.
“You drained him last night, remember?"
‘I thought he yas here solely for the wedding? Yetr want to leave him alone in the-house?" Kathie was => shocked‘because even Magda was coming to the registry. Yeah, oC Beatrice practically invited a dot of peop e. » 4
"Do you have any problem with that?” "Don't be a terrible guest, Mother. Don't you think it's rude to leave him alone in the house?" "As someone who claims she doesn't give a fuck about Oliver, you seem to care so much.”
"Mom, he's a guest!"
Beatrice frowrred. "Are you
suspecting that he would steal from
us? Don'te ridiculous. You know =~
Oliver is ¥ch enough to buy us and
our properties and after which he
would still remain one of thexichest

Katherine rolled her eyes at her mother. Since her home was safe, She wasn't used to locking her room door whenever she went out and she regretted not doing so today.
If he could barge in when she was present. God knows what he would do, being the only one in the house.
"I spoke to him this morning. If he's up for it, he will grace us with his presence and if not, we will see him at the reception.” "Let's go. I don't want to be late for my wedding.”
Katherine rolled her eyes once again as her mother helped herself into the limo.
Letting out a deep breath, She followed suit.
The ride to the registry was pretty chatty as Beatrice engaged in conversations with a friend over the phone.
Katherine rolled her eyes at how loud her mother was being with her laughter and all. She occupied herself by looking out through the window, buried in her thoughts until her phone buzzed on her lap.
A small smile made its way to her lips when she saw the caller ID. Kathie instantly brought the phone to her ear.
