unpredictable woman
Letta gazed at Mia, shaking her head.
“It’s not what you think. I have my reasons for ending things with Abian,” Letta said, prompting Mia to once again display her sardonic smile.
“Yeah, I understand your reasons. You found someone better, someone far superior to Abian, right? Finally, I see a Letta who’s truly oppressed by her own life. Maybe all this time, I genuinely sympathized because you always said you were alone. But now I know that it’s your strong reason to find someone who can protect you, even ensure your future. I understand your desires now,” Mia said, making Letta shake her head again. Letta then attempted to approach Mia, but Mia seemed to not want to be approached at all.
“I can explain,” Letta said in a choked voice, causing Mia to shake her head.
“You should explain that, not to me, but to Abian. You gave reasons that, to me, don’t make sense. You didn’t mention that you had another man, so it made him regret and blame himself, thinking that maybe because of him, he didn’t pay enough attention to you, even always kept his distance from you. He blamed his work that always kept him away and the distance that separated you both,” Mia said, causing Letta to hold back her tears that were now welling up. And it seemed that Marco couldn’t stay quiet anymore, witnessing the argument between the two friends in front of him. Marco exhaled roughly before finally approaching and standing right beside Letta.
“Sorry for interrupting, but I didn’t know you were my employee. And it seems you’re wrong to scold someone here,” Marco said, making Letta look directly at Marco, who ignored her gaze. Letta couldn’t let Marco reveal everything, because for her, it wouldn’t mean anything. Even if she stated the real reason, it wouldn’t change anything. It’s better for neither Abian nor Mia to know anything about what’s going on, Letta thought now.
“What do you mean?” Mia asked, clearly not understanding Marco’s words.
“Well, you’ve been blaming your own friend, and in my opinion, that’s wrong,” Marco said, causing Mia to once again just give a sardonic smile.
“So you mean the reason for their breakup isn’t Letta’s fault, but Abian’s own fault?” Mia asked, making Marco shrug indifferently.
“It’s not like that. I don’t know who Abian is, and why he’s blaming himself. But to me, it’s just a misunderstanding between us,” Marco said, causing Letta to widen her eyes. Letta immediately grasped Marco’s hand, letting him know that she didn’t want him to reveal everything to her friend. It’s as if she didn’t want everything to be uncovered.
“But I have to tell it to your friend, right?” Marco said, making Letta simply close her eyes as if the man beside her understood her condition. From NôvelDrama.Org.
“Alright, if you don’t want to disclose our secret, you have to handle your misunderstandings on your own,” Marco said, causing Mia to look at them with a frown.
“What actually happened if I observe this relationship far from my expectations?” Mia asked, making Letta remain silent. Letta seemed to no longer care about whatever response Mia might give.
“Forgive me, but I think this is the best way between me and Abian. I don’t want Abian to keep getting hurt if we insist on holding onto our relationship,” Letta said, making Mia look directly at them with a displeased gaze.
“Then what happened to your words about waiting for Abian, that you would always wait for him? Hasn’t he also tried to switch jobs from his beloved hobby to where you currently are? But you only gave him immense disappointment,” Mia said, leaving Letta speechless. Of course, Letta could feel the immense disappointment that Abian was feeling right now. He even blamed himself. But Letta truly had no other choice.
“Alright, stop your argument because I still have some business with Letta as well. So, I guess I’ll let you think whatever’s on your mind right now is settled. It’s better for you to leave now, as I also need to resolve my own issues as soon as possible,” Marco said, making Mia look at them with an incredulous gaze.
“Okay, thank you for the explanations you’ve given, and it seems I’ve lost two crucial things in my life right now. First, I lost a friend, and second, I lost my job,” Mia said, making Letta shake her head.
“I didn’t intend to fire you,” Marco said.
“No, but I leave with dignity,” Mia said, and then left them completely, making Letta immediately look at Marco with a displeased gaze.
“Why do you always meddle in my affairs? I can handle it,” Letta said, making Marco look at her with a questioning gaze.
“By lying to them, aren’t you being cruel, not giving them honesty, even to your own lover? Although I’m a little glad that you’re not involved with another man anymore, it seems you’re self-aware that there’s a fetus in your womb, and I don’t want you to be touched by any man while that baby is inside you,” Marco said, as if he was genuinely concerned about the fetus inside Letta, making Letta feel a bit tight in her chest for some reason.
“Of course, I have a clear enough mind to not let any man touch me. I know my condition. Even if I’m not pregnant, I’m not that kind of woman,” Letta said, leaving Marco speechless. Even though he didn’t mean it like that, Letta interpreted it differently. For some reason, his emotions felt a bit unstable, thought Marco.
“It’s not like that.”
“It’s better for you to leave,” Letta interrupted, intending to approach the door of her apartment again.
“Hey, but we’re not finished talking,” Marco said, making Letta still ignore his words. Letta immediately closed her apartment door quite loudly, leaving Marco silently staring at the door.
“She’s truly an unpredictable woman,” Marco said, not understanding in the slightest. He really had to take Letta with him now to move from her small apartment, which even made Marco uncomfortable when he stayed in her apartment. Especially having to let himself and the fetus continue to live in that cramped space, thought Marco, who finally chose to walk closer and press the code to Letta’s apartment. It seemed Letta forgot that Marco knew the code to her apartment.
