Chapter 130
Chapter 130
"His arm is injured, and he needs a dressing change tomorrow," Ethan Carter said without hesitation, using the need for a bandage change as an excuse to visit Emma Johnson's home.
Emma rolled her eyes dramatically. Changing a bandage was such a simple task-he could easily find someone else to do it, yet he chose to come all the way to find her. Wasn't that just a way to mess with her? "Come on! Shouldn't Olivia be the one changing the bandage for me? I should be the one going to her," Emma bit her lip and said, trying to keep her patience.
Just yesterday, because she ha
anged Ethan's bandage, things had spiraled into an
unavoidable misunderstanding. She thought she had learned her lesson.
"He got hurt saving me; shouldn't I take responsibility?" Ethan brought up the reason for his injury again.
That statement somehow hit the mark. Emma's frustration melted away as she realized, had it not been for saving her, he wouldn't have been hurt in the first place. "Fine, fine! You win. I will change it for you!" Emma relented, opening the door with a sigh. Ethan's face flashed with a triumphant grin before he strolled confidently into her home.
Emma retrieved the first-aid kit from her house, carefully unwrapping the bandage around his arm. She looked up at him, saying, "It might hurt a bit; bear with it."
She gently took a cotton swab and began to clean his wound, Ethan didn't even furrow his brow. Compared to the pain he felt while being stitched up, this was nothing. Emma was focused on applying the medication, and effortlessly, Ethan's gaze lingered on her concentrated expression.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

"All done." Emma looked up just in time to meet his complex stare.
Feeling a bit awkward, she turned her head assay. "The medication is done, and it's getting late. Mr. Carter, shouldn't you head home to rest?"
Now that it was late, being alone together could raise eyebrows, so Emma hoped he would leave soon.
"I'm hungry," Ethan pressed on, not backing down.
"For heaven's sake, we just finished dinner!" Emma exclaimed, her eyes wide as she struggled to hide her annoyance.
"You were so busy looking after me during dinner, I barely ate. It's normal to be hungry now," Ethan said lightly, raising an eyebrow as if he was completely justified.
Emma nearly choked in disbelief. She stared at Ethan, wondering how someone could
be so brazen.
"Why don't you just go home to eat? You don't have anything at home, and besides, the food you cook likely wouldn't suit your taste," Emma smiled awkwardly, subtly refusing his suggestion. "Anything works; I'll manage," Ethan said casually, showing no signs of giving up. Emma racked her brain, trying to find a way to shoo him out, but no better ideas came to her mind. She opened the fridge and found a pack of noodles, but that was all.
Holding up the noodles in front of Ethan, she said, "This is all I have, so I guess you can have that."
Without hesitation, Ethan nodded. Emma sighed in defeat and walked into the kitchen, noodles in hand.
