Chapter 20
Chapter 20
The old Jocelyn wasn’t like this.
She knew Melvin wasn’t into her wearing those flashy clothes and he definitely wasn’t a fan of her dolling up and hitting the bars looking like a total knockout. She knew she would’ve gotten on his bad side over something like this
And to sass him back? No chance
Melvin gave her the cold shoulder, but Jocelyn stood her ground, staring right back
This time she wasn’t about to back down
Jocelyn, after what felt like ages, Melvin finally broke the silence, calling her by her name, which was a rarity when they
were together
Jocelyn just raised an eyebrow The seductive charm of hers made it impossible for a guy to stay mad at her.
Another part of him, however, gradually hardened because of her casual movement.
“Don’t provoke me Melvin swallowed hard, managing to squeeze out just that much.
Jocelyn chuckled, pursing her lips. She took out her phone, flashed him a photo, and said, “So it’s cool for you to light fires, but I can’t even spark a match? Who’s really clueless about our relationship here, you or me?”
The sight of the photo darkened Melvin’s expression even more.
Jocelyn expected him to explain, but he just looked away and hit the road again.
Huh, she scoffed, playing with her phone, zooming in and out on that photo, Willow’s pretty hot, huh? You two look. good together”
Melvin shot her a cold glance, which she blatantly ignored, continuing, I wonder who snapped that They’d send it to me Will they send it to the paparazzi? With her innocent image, a scandal could be bad news for her, right?”
Jocelyn hissed under her breath, then turned to Melvin with mock seriousness, “If they catch you in the frame, given her popularity, you might get dragged into the spotlight too. But hey, no sweat, right? You’re both single and ready to mingle. It could even boost your profile
Melvin floored it, the car speeding up Middle of the night, roads were clear, speed limit 60, but he’s doing 120. It’s easy
when money talks
Jocelyn was in high spirits, thinking if he didn’t want her to have it easy, then nobody would.
It was like he was punishing her by rolling down the windows. The outside air wasn’t hot anymore, but with the car speeding, the wind was fierce, blowing her hair around like crazy.
Nonchalantly fixing her hair, Jocelyn noticed his phone light up on the dash and kindly pointed out, “Someone’s ringing
you
He slowed down, rolled up the windows, glanced at the caller ID, then at Jocelyn who was acting like nothing was up. Melvin hit the speakerphone, connecting it to the car’s Bluetooth
“Melvin, where did you go? You coming back or what? We’re all waiting. Willow’s voice rang out, clear as a bell.
Jocelyn wished she could sink into her seat.
*Play without me, I’m not coming back Melvin replied coolly
Jocelyn bit her lip, then let go with a soft ‘pop’.
She swore it wasn’t on purpose. But the thrill of petty revenge felt good.
No one on the other end could hear such a tiny noise, right?
Who who are you with?”
Turns out, the other end had good ears.
Jocelyn didn’t dare look at Melvin, afraid he’d think she did it on purpose
Melvin, annoyed by Jocelyn’s antics but acting like nothing happened, turned off the Bluetooth, and brought the phone to his ear. “Don’t stay out too late, and get some rest”
Whatever the reply was, Melvin just said “Okay” and hung up
Jocelyn didn’t ask, and Melvin sure wasn’t volunteering any info.
They pulled into her apartment’s underground garage, and Jocelyn made to get out, but he locked the door on her.
She spun around, glaring at Melvin.
He loosened his tie rolled up his sleeves, looking all casual and ready for a fight.
Jocelyn looked at that sharply defined face, the affection in his peach blossom eyes acquiring a layer of frost on this fiery night. Her heart was in a state of unease
“What what are you doing? Jocelyn’s voice trembled as she spoke.
Melvin silently unbuckled his belt and pulled it free.
Jocelyn’s eyes went wide, her hands pressing against the window as fear of the unpredictable man in front of her set in. Without a word, he ignored her fear and discomfort, grabbed her hands, and tied them together. With that, he reclined the seat, and gently pushed her shoulders down.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing? You Jocelyn tried to curse him, but she never was good at swearing, her words lacked any real bite
Melvin leaned over her, his fingers teasing down her shoulder strap, exposing her skin. He didn’t strip her completely; instead, his hands roamed over the thin fabric, zeroing in on her sensitive spots.
“Melvin'”
The car lights were on Jocelyn was trapped in this tight space with his face looming over her, fear and embarrassment flooding in.
She was scared, scared of being seen.
Melvin
Jocelyn’s voice broke, pleading. Please not here…
Melvin didn’t stop, he only used his hands.
Jocelyn dared not make a sound. The silence around them was deafening, and she feared even the slightest noise.
would echo.
“You sent your photo on Twitter just to get me back here, didn’t you? Melvin whispered, nibbling on her ear, toying with her sensitive lobe, his body pressing down, showing no signs of letting up. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Jocelyn turned away, tears streaming down. She felt humiliated
Melvin didn’t take her, but his torment was as harsh as if he had right then and there
it was like a sudden storm, no shelter, just surrender…
After an eternity, Melvin finally untied the belt, leaning over to see her tear-stained face, makeup smeared, eyes red with
crying
She looked like a rose that had weathered a storm, bent but still radiantly beautifu!
Melvin’s Adam’s apple bobbed fiercely as he grabbed her hand, fussing over her dress to straighten it out, sweeping her hair back over her shoulders, then gently wiping her face with a darnp tissue, cleaning off her makeup-it was like he was a completely different person from the one who had just been tearing into her.
Once she was tidied up, Melvin scooped her out of the car, his foot hooking the door shut behind them, and then he cammed her into the elevator, cradling her in his arms.
Jocelyn was still sobbing, and Melvin felt a warm, wet heat against his chest, scorching his heart.
His eyes flickered to the red marks on her wrist, his heart skipped a beat, his breathing grew heavy.
After opening the door, Melvin carried her into the bathroom, had her stand on his feet, and turned on the shower. The cold water cascaded down from above, making Jocelyn shiver violently.
Their clothes were soaked through, clinging tightly to their bodies, outlining his muscular build and her curves-every inch of them radiating seduction and desire.
Melvin pinned Jocelyn against the wall, lifting her chin with his hand, gazing at her through the veil of water with intense eyes and a raspy voice. From now on, you’re not allowed to go to a bar dressed like that alone Got it?”
