"Calm down!" Stefan said nervously, his eyes growing wide. "We can talk it out... just don't hurt him. I don't think there's any reason for us to fight." As far as he knew, he hadn't met Madelyn before, so he figured she didn't kidnap Adie for revenge.

"No!" Madelyn shook her head firmly. "It has nothing to do with that. I'm just jealous of your feelings toward your wife. After watching that movie, I started to believe in love, and long for marriage. I thought love could overcome everything."

Stefan was speechless. He wanted to scold Madelyn but was forced to be patient because she had Adie with her. "If it has nothing to do with me, why did you kidnap my son? Am I to blame for you becoming a love-struck fool after watching that movie? Also, it's not like that movie was so great either-my marriage with my wife hasn't been good from then until now. What was the point of it all anyway?" The movie had been from Renee's point of view, and included all the grievances that she had suffered in the marriage as well as his regret.
