I heard a shot ring out and then one of Jack’s men dropped dead

Immediately, I turned around and to my relief, I saw a team of people with similar masks covering their lower faces, carrying guns.

Finally, I felt at ease and when I turned back around, I found Alpha Jack’s mouth downturned, glaring down at all of us,

“I see you’ve got yourself some backup.”

“I guess I’m not dumb after all.” I replied, then El got out of the car and stood by my side.

‘Oh, you’re still dumb,” Alpha Jack replied smugly, because you’re outnumbered.”

Immediately, he said that, wolves crawled out of the woods and surrounded us, their teeth bared in a menacing snarl. I looked around, discovering hundreds of wolves surrounding us all and my heart began to race.

I turned back to Alpha Jack. “You don’t need to do this!” I yelled at him. “Unneccessary lives will be lost!”

“Yes. Yours.” He grinned and I realized he was never going to let me have my inheritance without a fight.

I look towards El. “I did what the Watcher asked. He won’t budge.”

Her eyes smiled. “I was hoping he wouldn’t.” Then she raised her right fist in the air just as Jack’s men prepared to attack. I grabbed the knives strapped to my sides, my heart hammering fast. I wasn’t informed about this part of the plan so I had no idea what was coming next.

EL looked at me. “Keep your cool, no matter what.”

Huh?

Before I could ask why, she directed her two fingers at Jack’s men and then I heard the snap of bones and when I turned around, my jaw dropped when I saw my backup grow into seven feet tall mutants.

What the hell?! Who have I been working with?

Before I could react, they growled, shaking the earth and almost rupturing my eardrums with their roars. Then they ran past me and began to fight.

I looked at El in shock and she winked before transforming into one of the largest wolves I had ever seen. With one more glance at me, she lunged for the men and my heart hammered as I watched Jack’s men fall in droves.

I had no time to think as two men advanced, both bigger than me and I stilled, calculating their moves.

I didn’t want to shift because the elite soldiers were coming so I held my knives tighter, and when one swung his arm carrying sharp claws, I bent forward at the waist and moved my body under to the other side.

Moving quick, I stabbed his side twice, causing a cry from him, and when his partner came for me, I yanked out the knife and just when he thought, I’d face him onwards, I lowered myself to my knees and stabbed his right foot, before stabbing his thigh and finally burying the knife in the corner between his shoulder and his neck.

He went still, and I finished off the first guy with a kick to the head, knocking him out cold.

I tried not to think of the fact that I had just killed someone else!

Cleaning my blade against their clothes, I raised my head just in time to see three wolves baring their teeth at me as they assessed me. I bared my teeth as well, letting a loud growl rip from my throat, and it was a sound so loud and so menacing that the wolves took a step back.

They still snarled and growled but maintained their distance.

“Yeah, that’s what I thought.” I said, looking toward the building and finding Alpha Jack gone.

Fuck! Where did he go?

I looked around for any signs of him but found none.

I need to get into that house. That’s my mission. Get all the documents and secure Alpha Jack’s capture.

With one glance at the menacing wolves, I took a step towards them and they took matching ones back. I smirked in pride, but then I felt a sharp pain’sear through my face.

I stumbled and staggered to the side.

Turning around, I saw Alpha Jack with his claws out, growling at me.

Where the hell did he come from?! I remembered El’s warning. Always be on alert.”

My bad. That won’t happen again.

Fear snuck in, strong and primal. It reminded me of all the times I was a helpless girl hiding from him but always getting caught. Always getting beaten. Always getting thrown in dungeons to starve and die.

I shook my head, refusing to be intimidated. That girl is now strong and formidable and she can beat the hell out of this

man.

“Surrender! Or Die!” He said, like the total douche he was.

“No, thanks.” I said, feeling my anger

rise.

Then he came for me, all six foot five of him.

As always, they always swing their arms to claw at me, and I always dodge that initial blow with ease but what I didn’t anticipate was Alpha Jack’s speed.

He was faster than the others and because of that I couldn’t land the fatal blow I wanted. Instead, he scooted back before kicking me hard in the chest.

I flew back, landing hard on my back.

For a moment, the world spined, then I rolled to my side, rubbing my chest as I coughed.

Then from my side vision, I watched him come for me.

‘If you can’t win them, then you cheat.‘

I grabbbed some sand and flung it in his eyes.

He staggered back, shaking his head and rubbing his face, and I was instantly on my feet.

With a wide arc, Leut across his chest. He growled in pain, trying to grab for me, but I sidestepped him, and made a long deep cut down his back.

Blood splattered on my face but I didn’t mind. I loved this, I enjoyed it.

He tried to grab me again, and I made cuts on his arm and moved with the wind, cutting anywhere and everywhere.

I can’t stab him to death… yet. I need my inheritance and I am going to get it.

“Tell your men to stand down!” I yelled, as he fell to his knees, shielding himself from my cuts. His arms were a bleeding ugly mess now, and I loved how they soaked his white shirt and colored it red.

“Never!” He groaned, and I was tempted to bury my knife in his skull, instead I peeped an exposed area on his body, and drew my knife up his side with glee!

Alpha Jack roared in pain, gripping his side before falling to ground.

My lips pulled into a smile but before I could approach him, a terrible force knocked me backwards.

Within seconds, a sharp pain pierced through my elbow and I realized that a wolf was attacking me, biting down on my forearm.

To my horror another closed its mouth around my left leg, and bit down hard causing me to scream in pain.

Just when I thought of letting go and shifting, suddenly, the wolves got yanked off me and I heard the sickening snap of their bones and their sorry whines of pain.

Breathless, I struggled to get up and turn and that’s when I saw them.

Right in front of me were Theon and Miro tearing through the wolves like they were made of paper. Their eyes were pitch black, their faces carrying unrivaled fury as blood splattered everywhere.

They faced the rest of the wolves, baring their long fanged teeth at them and then they let out a roar, so jealous, so possessive, and so fucking deadly that a terrible shiver went down my spine and every one of Jack’s wolves bowed their heads and surrendered.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Due to my slow updates, I was so scared to read the comments cause I promised plenty of updates but birthday planning wouldn’t let me. Today I gained courage to read and I am so awed and grateful to you guys for your wishes and kind comments. I thought you guys would be upset. Glad you aren’t. Alright back to writing.
